Genesect first appeared in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2–and it’s back in the Mega Dimensions DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Where to find Genesect¶
The first step is to complete the postgame DLC mission “The Greatest Gift”, where you catch Rayquaza.
Quest location
Each drive costs 540 shards
Afterwards, head to a small alleyway around the west side of Wild Zone 17. There’s a man here who exchanges various items for 
Mega Shards.
He’ll give you Side Mission 191 “Collecting Four Drives”. You need to purchase the Douse Drive, Shock Drive, Burn Drive and Chill Drive from him, for 540 Mega Shards apiece. So you need 2160 total.
Once you’ve bought one of each drive (be careful not to buy the same one twice!), speak to him and choose the “I’ve got the drives” option. He’ll mark your map with a new destination.
Portal location
Genesect looks small, but it’s still a Mythical
Head to Wild Zone 13 and inspect the wall near the east entrance. A 5-star Hyperspace portal will appear. Use a 5-star donut to enter.
Inside, you’ll be in a forest/mountain space. Go to the end to encounter a Level 200 Genesect. It’s a Bug and Steel type.
Succeed in catching Genesect and the mission will end.
