Rogue Mega Altaria Weaknesses¶
Before you can get a Mega Altaria yourself, you will need the
Altarianite. To unlock the Altarianite Mega Stone, you’ll need to defeat the Rogue Mega Altaria during Main Mission 28:
A Rogue Mega Altaria.
Mega Altaria is a Dragon/Fairy-type, which gives it weaknesses to Poison, Steel, Ice, and Fairy-type attacks. Normally Fairies counter Dragons very well, but, in this instance it is completely immune to Dragon moves. Avoid any of those moves or Pokemon types. It also has resistances to Fighting, Bug, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, and Dark-type moves, making it a very defensive Pokemon.
In terms of counters there’s a few good combos:
These tend to be fairy and steel combos, but anything you’ve invested in along those types and move sets should be fine.
Mega Altaria Stats and Typing¶
When you defeat the Rogue Mega Altaria, you’ll receive the Altarianite Mega Stone as a reward. You can then use this to Mega Evolve your own Altaria during battles. Mega Altaria undergoes a dramatic type change, losing its Flying typing and gaining Fairy typing instead, becoming Dragon/Fairy.
Mega Altaria’s stats are well-balanced for a defensive special attacker. It has
| HP | Attack | Defense | Special Attack | Special Defense | Speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 75 | 110 | 110 | 100 | 105 | 80 |
With these stats, the Pokemon can be used as a general all rounder. With it being a Flying Dragon type or Fairy / Flying it means you get some decent Pokemon. If you ever get a dragon you need to battle, then it’s a really great counter to keep as a mega evolution in your back pocket.
