Pokémon Legends: Z-A features a day/night cycle and certain things will change in the game’s world depending on the time of day, so learning how to tell the time and where to change it will allow you to progress through the game’s story without any interruptions.
You can tell the time by looking at the blue dial around the mini-map in the top left of your screen.
Telling The Time¶
In order to progress through the game’s story then you’ll need to participate in the Z-A Royale which is an activity that turns random areas around the map into hostile territory so you can challenge other trainers and earn prize money and medals which will increase your overall rank, but this will only become available at night.
If you want to find out how long is left until nightfall to give you time to finish up whatever you’re doing and prepare your team, then you can do it easily by simply taking a look at the mini-map in the top left corner. You’ll notice that there is a blue dial around the outside which will gradually deplete over time and when it becomes empty the game will change from day to night or vice versa.
How to Change the Time¶
If you notice the time isn’t changing then this will most likely be related to a quest you’re doing so you’ll need to complete those first. You won’t be able to change the time at a whim via an in-game menu but there are two methods you can make use of so you aren’t left waiting around, such as sleeping in your room at Hotel Z which is located in Vert Sector 8 (northeast of Pokemon Research Lab). If you want to sleep on the go then you can do so at any nearby benches, but this won’t become available until you’ve won the 3rd promotion battle in the Z-A Royale.
