"Buneary" iconBuneary is one of the Normal-type Pokemon available in Pokemon Legends ZA, and it evolves into the powerful "Lopunny" iconLopunny. Lopunny is a cute early- mid game Pokemon from earlier generations, offering players a strong Normal type Pokemon for their party with access to a Mega Evolution. If you’re set in your ways, or simply want to tick off those pokemon for your Mabel dex collection, here’s how to get and evolve Buneary in Pokemon Legends ZA.

How to Get Buneary

Firstly, you will need to get your hands on a Buneary. To do so, you can find one in the following locations:

  • Buneary Location: Wild Zone 6. You can unlock this fairly early on, around mission 08. Map Marker
  • Lopunny Location: If you’re much later in the game, you can catch Lopunny at Wild Zone 18. It is an Alpha, and a late game Zone, so it will mean you have a harder flight if you want to catch it that way. Map Marker

It’s fairly common so don’t worry about needed any advanced catching methods. The alpha can be tough though. If you want it, progress later into the game ands then try sneak attack pokeball ambushes. Alternatively, get a sneak attack Mega Fighter to hit Alpha Lopunny to easily beat it down ready for a capture.

Buneary Evolution Explained

Unlike traditional pokemon, you will need to evolve Buneary by the friendship level system. It will not evolve via a level. To increase the friendship of your pokemon, you can do the following:

  • Keeping Buneary as your active Pokemon while exploring
  • Using it in battles
  • Giving it items like Vitamins or "Protein" iconProtein
  • Buy a meal from a cafe and sit with your Pokemon
  • Feed it friendly berries like "Kelpsy Berry" iconKelpsy Berry, "Hondew Berry" iconHondew Berry, or Qualot berries

Once you hit the invisible threshold, you will notice the evolve symbol appear on the Pokemon. This will enable you to revolve it into Lopunny! We have a more detailed guide on friendship level in Pokemon Legends ZA here.

Now, be advised you can also get the Mega Evolution for Lopunny

Name HP Attack Defense Special Attack Special Defense Speed
"Lopunny" iconLopunny 65 76 84 54 96 105
Mega 65 136 94 54 96 135

As you can see, Lopunny gets considerably stronger with its physical attacks, perfect for normal moves. You will also get solid speed too. So, if you want to use fast physical attack Pokemon that counters others with lower defense, this could be a decent tactical to use in your party.
