Starting A Big Ol’ Bunnelby Side Quest

Once you’ve reached the main quest “The City in the Shadow Prism Tower” you’ll be required to complete some side missions and one of which is A Big Ol’ "Bunnelby" iconBunnelby. To begin this quest, head over to Trevelle who can be found in Rogue Sector 6 (East of Wild Zone 3) and speak with him to discover that there is a larger than normal Bunnelby causing havoc in Lumiose City.

Finding the Giant Bunnelby

The Giant Bunnelby can be found within a small alleyway in Rogue Sector 8 (East of Wild Zone 4), but before you head on over there you’ll want to do some preparations beforehand as the battle can cause you some trouble. Bunnelby is a Normal Type Pokémon so you’ll want to have Fighting Types in your Party to hit its weakness with Super Effectiveness.

Head to the small alleyway in Rogue Sector 8 to find the Giant Bunnelby

and then use Heracross’ Pin Missile move to hits elemental weakness.

If you want to make this battle as easy as possible, then you’ll want to use "Heracross" iconHeracross, which can be obtained during the Side Mission “A Use for an Evolution Stone” which is found north of Wild Zone 4. Finally, we recommend stocking up on "Potion" iconPotions and "Revive" iconRevives and these can be purchased from a Pokémon Center.

How to Beat Giant Bunnelby

Giant Bunnelby has three attacks in its arsenal, "Earth Power" iconEarth Power which is an AoE (Area of Effect) move, Leer which will lowers your Pokémon’s Defense and finally Tackle, which is a dash move. The majority of these attacks will deal around 30-50% of your health depending on your level, so you’ll want to make sure you heal up afterwards or call your Pokémon afterwards to avoid it. While you’re avoiding its attacks you’ll want to make use of Heracross’ Pin Missile move to whittle down its health.

Once you’ve successfully defeated the Giant Bunnelby, launch one of your "Poké Ball" iconPoké Balls at it to capture and then return to Trevelle to bring the quest to a close and earn yourself 400 Poké Dollars and "Fresh Water" iconFresh Water x2.
