Mega Pokémon first debuted in Pokémon X and Y. Since Legends Z-A takes place in the same Kalos region, it was inevitable that Megas would return–and there are even brand new one too!

New Mega Pokémon

Mega Drampa

During Mission 10, in your promotion match, Vinnie will send out Mega "Drampa" iconDrampa as his ace. Mega Drampa retains its Normal/Dragon typing and gains a solid Special Attack boost, making its attacks hurt harder.

Afterwards, you can buy Drampa’s mega stone, "Drampanite" iconDrampanite from the Mega Stone exchange inside the Quasartico Inc. building for 360 "Mega Shard" iconMega Shards. Hope you’ve been farming!

Mega Meganium

Meganium’s mega stone

During Mission 10, before you leave to deal with the Rogue Mega Pokémon, AZ will give you the mega stone for the evolved form of your starter Pokémon.

If you picked "Chikorita" iconChikorita, you’ll receive the "Meganiumite" iconMeganiumite, so you can mega evolve "Meganium" iconMeganium. Mega Meganium (that’s a mouthful) gains the Fairy type and massively boosted Sp. Atk. Its other stats are also improved, except Speed and the usual HP.

Otherwise, after completing the game, you can purchase it from the Stone Emporium for 100,000 money.

During Mission 10, just before you set out to deal with the Rogue Mega Pokémon, AZ will give you the mega stone for the evolved form of your starter Pokémon.

If you picked "Tepig" iconTepig, you’ll receive the "Emboarite" iconEmboarite, allowing you to mega evolve "Emboar" iconEmboar. Like its base form, Mega Emboar is Fire/Fighting. Excluding HP, all of its stats are boosted, most notably its Attack stat, although its Sp. Def is also improved.

Otherwise, after completing the game, you can purchase it from the Stone Emporium for 100,000 money.

Mega Feraligatr

Feraligatr’s mega stone

During Mission 10, to help you deal with the Rogue Mega Pokémon, AZ will give you the mega stone for the evolved form of your starter Pokémon.

If you picked "Totodile" iconTotodile, you’ll receive the "Feraligite" iconFeraligite, which lets you mega evolve Feraligtr. Mega Feraligtr gains the Dragon type and massively boosted Attack. Its Defense stat is also nothing to be sniffed at.

Otherwise, after completing the game, you can purchase it from the Stone Emporium for 100,000 money.

Mega Victreebel

During Mission 13, you’ll need to pacify a rogue Mega "Victreebel" iconVictreebel. In its new form, Mega Victreebel keeps its Grass/Poison typing and gains boosts to all its stats except Speed. Making it a good all-rounder.

Upon defeating the rogue Mega Victreebel, you’ll automatically receive its mega stone, "Victreebelite" iconVictreebelite. To get your own Victreebel, you can use a "Leaf Stone" iconLeaf Stone on a "Weepinbell" iconWeepinbell.

Mega Excadrill

Near the end of Mission 14, Tarragon will send out Mega "Excadrill" iconExcadrill as his ace. It retains its Ground/Steel typing and has improved Attack, Defense and Speed stats.

When Mission 19 begins, you can purchase the "Excadrite" iconExcadrite from Quasartico Inc. for 360 Mega Shards.

Mega Eelektross

At the end of Mission 14, Canari will Mega Evolve her "Eelektross" iconEelektross to apply the pressure. This electrified eel retains its mono Electric typing and has improved Attack, Sp. Atk and Speed stats.

When Mission 19 begins, you can purchase the "Eelektrossite" iconEelektrossite from Quasartico Inc. for 240 Mega Shards.

Mega Hawlucha

During Mission 17, you’ll go toe to toe with a Rogue Mega "Hawlucha" iconHawlucha. Like its base form, it’s a rare Fighting/Flying type. Beware its improved Attack, Defense and Sp. Def stats, making it a more robust brawler.

After you’ve calmed the Hawlucha down, you’ll receive the "Hawluchanite" iconHawluchanite so you can Mega Evolve your own Hawlucha. Look for them on the rooftops!

Mega Chandelure

Near the end of Mission 19, Gwynn will use Mega "Chandelure" iconChandelure. It’s a Ghost/Fire type as before, but boasts improved Special Attack.

After negotiating with the Rust Syndicate at the start of Mission 20, you can buy "Chandelurite" iconChandelurite from Quasartico Inc. for 360 Mega Shards.

Mega Falinks

Falinks’s mega stone

At the end of Mission 19, during your promotion battle with Ivor, his ace is Mega "Falinks" iconFalinks. Still a mono Fighting type, it has enhanced Attack, Defense and Speed.

After meeting with the Rust Syndicate higher ups at the start of Mission 20, you can buy "Falinksite" iconFalinksite from Quasartico Inc. for 240 Mega Shards.

Mega Skarmory

During Mission 20, at the entrance to the Rust Syndicate Office, Philippe will Mega Evolve his "Skarmory" iconSkarmory. Like before, it’s Steel/Flying. However, it swaps its high Defense for high Attack instead, while gaining significant Speed.

When Mission 26 begins, you can purchase "Skarmorite" iconSkarmorite from Quasartico Inc.

Mega Barbaracle

Barbaracle’s mega stone

During Mission 22, you must take down a Rogue Mega "Barbaracle" iconBarbaracle. Instead of Rock/Water, it becomes Rock/Fighting. Besides HP and perhaps its Sp. Def, all of its stats have received a noticeable upgrade.

Once you’ve defeated the Rogue Mega, you’ll automatically receive the "Barbaracite" iconBarbaracite.

Mega Scolipede

At the end of Mission 24, Corbeau will Mega Evolve his "Scolipede" iconScolipede. It’s Bug/Poison like before, but has a vastly different stat spread. Now it’s more tank-like with high Attack and defensive stats, but low Speed.

When Mission 26 begins, you can purchase "Scolipite" iconScolipite from Quasartico Inc.

Mega Scrafty

During Mission 25, Naveen will show off his Mega "Scrafty" iconScrafty. Like its base form, it’s Dark/Fighting. With the exception of HP, all of its stats are improved, most notably its Attack.

After receiving Mission 31 and paying a visit to Quasartico Inc, you can buy "Scraftinite" iconScraftinite from the Mega Shard Exchange there.

Mega Froslass

You’ll encounter a Rogue Mega "Froslass" iconFroslass during Mission 27. It’s an Ice/Ghost type like before. In its mega form, it has enhanced Sp. Atk and Sp. Def and slightly improved Speed.

After you’ve defeated the Froslass, you’ll automatically receive its "Froslassite" iconFroslassite.

Mega Dragalge

At the end of Mission 26, Lebanne will challenge you with her Mega "Dragalge" iconDragalge. As usual, it’s a Poison/Dragon type. Excluding HP and Spd, all of its stats are improved, most notably its Sp. Atk and Sp. Def.

After receiving Mission 31 and paying a visit to Quasartico Inc, you can buy "Dragalgite" iconDragalgite from the Mega Shard Exchange there.

Mega Clefable

During Mission 30, Jacinthe will greet you with her Mega "Clefable" iconClefable. Unlike regular Clefable, it’s a Fairy/Flying type. Excluding HP, all of its stats are improved, especially its Sp. Atk stat.

After receiving Mission 31 and paying a visit to Quasartico Inc, you can buy "Clefablite" iconClefablite from the Mega Shard Exchange there.

Mega Dragonite

The first new mega to be officially revealed and one of the last ones you’ll face, during Main Mission 32. Mega "Dragonite" iconDragonite keeps its Dragon/Flying typing and receives a significant Sp. Atk boost, by sacrificing its Attack stat.

At the end of the mission, you’ll automatically receive its "Dragoninite" iconDragoninite.

Mega Starmie

Encountered during Main Mission 34. Mega "Starmie" iconStarmie is Water/"Psychic" iconPsychic like before and has a significant Attack boost, making it its new highest stat.

After stopping Mega Starmie, you’ll automatically receive its "Starminite" iconStarminite.

Mega Malamar

Must… buy… its… mega stone…

At the start of Main Mission 35, Emma will show off her Mega "Malamar" iconMalamar. Like its base form, it’s a rare Dark/Psychic type. Excluding HP and Defense, all of its stats are improved, most notably its Sp. Def.

Upon completing the game, you can purchase the "Malamarite" iconMalamarite from Quasartico Inc.

Mega Pyroar

Near the end of Main Mission 35, Griselle will mega evolve her "Pyroar" iconPyroar. It retains its Fire/Normal typing and, excluding HP, all of its stats are boosted by 20.

Upon completing the game, you can purchase the "Pyroarite" iconPyroarite from Quasartico Inc.

Mega Floette

During Main Mission 36, Taunie will mega evolve AZ’s "Floette" iconFloette. It’s a mono Fairy type like before and has improved stats all across the board, most notably its Sp. Atk.

After completing the game, you can obtain the "Floettite" iconFloettite by completing 15 reward matches in the Infinite Z-A Royale. Godspeed.

Mega Zygarde

Zygarde’s mega stone

Of course, "Zygarde" iconZygarde gets a new mega evolution. Seen in Main Mission 37, Mega Zygarde is Dragon/Ground like its other forms. It boasts an insane 216 Sp. Atk stat on top of a 200 power move in Nihil Light, which also hits Fairy types. Whew, be careful where you point that thing.

You’ll automatically receive the "Zygardite" iconZygardite during Main Mission 37. To obtain Zygarde, you’ll need to complete one reward match in the Infinite Z-A Royale, then complete Main Missions 40, 41 and 42.

Mega Greninja

Mega Greninja

Mega "Greninja" iconGreninja is Water/Dark like its base form. It boasts improved offensive and speed stats.

To obtain the "Greninjite" iconGreninjite stone, you must achieve Rank K in Season 1 of the online Ranked Battles. If you miss it, it may appear in a future season.

Mega Delphox

Mega Delphox

Mega "Delphox" iconDelphox is Fire/Psychic like its base form. It has improved Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and Speed.

To obtain the "Delphoxite" iconDelphoxite stone, you need to reach Rank K in Season 2 of the online Ranked Battles. If you miss it, it may appear in a future season.

Mega Chesnaught

Mega Chesnaught

Mega "Chesnaught" iconChesnaught is Grass/Fighting like its base form. It has massively improved Defense, on top of better Attack and Sp. Def. But lower Speed.

The "Chesnaughtite" iconChesnaughtite stone is a reward for attaining Rank K in Season 3 of the online Ranked Battles. If you miss it, it may appear in a future season.

Requires DLC

Besides the megas we’ve listed, there are new megas introduced in the upcoming Mega Dimesions DLC.
