How to catch Skarmory¶
To catch Skarmory, you have two choices - though one is much more reliable than the other:
- Wild Zone 17
- Wild Zone 20
Wild Zone 20 has a chance to spawn Skarmory in. But, this shares a spawn with a lot of other Pokemon, so we cannot guarantee you’ll ever see it if luck is not on your side.
Instead, we recommend that you go to Wild Zone 17. Map Marker This has a guaranteed Skarmory spawn point. But, there’s a catch, as the pokemon is actually hard to capture in general. To capture it, we recommend the following:
- Go to the Pokemon Center next to Wild Zone 17 and rest till night
- Enter Wild Zone 17 and sneak around with your pokemon in their balls
- Sneak past the sleeping
Pyroars to avoid getting stomped by them - Climb the ladder nearby and get to the roof
- Deal with the
Klefkis and
Lampents on the roof as quickly as you can - Sneak across the edges of the rooftops and await Skarmory to get close to the building tips
- There are a few bushes on the roof you can hide in to get better stealth bonus
- Use a
Dusk Ball which raises your chances of catching it at night
The above are general tips and instructions to get into a more favorable position to catch Skarmory. Though, be advised that Skarmory has quite a high resistance to being captured anyway. It’s best to try and weaken the target, paralyze, confuse or apply other status effects to increase your odds of capturing it. If you’re in combat, you’re likely better to try and use an
Ultra Ball. Don’t faint it as you will need to run back and rest to night again to force it to respawn.
If you do end up fainting it, do not try this in day time. There’s a good few alpha Pyroars around. This is why we recommend going at night. They are asleep then, and it increases your odds of being able to make it to the rooftops where you can actually capture and battle it properly.
