When you make your way to the Heavenly Pier Village in Where Winds Meet, you’ll come across an area known for its wine making tradition. This area produces a special drink called Parting Tears, and upon arrival, it will be drinking festival time. Naturally, many of the NPCs you’ll encounter in this region want some of that glorious Parting Tear wine. So, you’ll need to find a lot of this stuff out and about for various NPCs and encounter missions. Here’s where to find all of the Parting Tear locations for the Abyss of Desire in Where Winds Meet.

Abyss of Desire Walkthrough¶

To start the Abyss of Desire Wandering Tales mission, you will need to head to Heavenly Pier on the Moonveil area of the map. You will naturally work your way through here as part of the main storyline with your uncle at General’s Shrine. When you make it to the town, head right along the dirt road towards the bar and then further down towards the pier. You will see a man called Wu Bai to the left that will offer you a Wandering Tale about the mysterious men and where they are from. However, he will only exchange details if you trade him some of the festival wine knocking around.

Parting Tear Locations¶

To progress this quest, you will need three different bottles of the Parting Tears. You can find the locations as follows:

1. On a stool by the bar where the Lone Drinker sits, where you passed to enter the village.
2. Another Parting Tear can be found along the pier to the west side of the village, near where Wu Bai is. The Parting Tear is near where the woman stands by the pier on a crate.
3. Now return either one of these wines to Wu Bai to progress the next stage of the quest. From here, he will ask for a Parting Tear Reserve.
   • The location of this is by the Stall Owner next to the bar as you enter town. Go up the stall and cycle through the interactions to get the Parting Tear Reserve.
   • Take it back to him to get the next part of the Wandering Tale.
4. Now you need a Large Jar of Parting Tear.
   • To get this, head over to the actual brewer further up the hill in the center of Heavenly Pier.
   • You should find an area where there are lots of workers during the day time. Check one of the far left Parting Tear storage jars and you should find the large jar towards the front.

With all of the jars accounted for, you can give them over as gifts to progress the Abyss of Desire Wandering Tale. You will learn more about the setting and what is going on. When you hand over the final part, the NPC will disappear, and you can find your rewards in the journal under the wandering tab section. You’ll get exploration, money and experience for your troubles.

Also, there is one spare Parting Tear. You can hand this over to an NPC called Sun Sun, who is up the dirt hill from the actual wooden pier area. He stands with another gentleman towards the top of the hill road. Hand him one over and you’ll get a “treasure map”, with a picture of the Killerblade’s face on it. This is part of the A Foolproof Plan Wandering Tale, which will net you some more reward too. So, finding all of these Parting Tears hits two birds with one stone.
