How to Self Heal
All Weapons and How to Get Them
When you make a character in Where Winds Meet, you’ll get asked about a choice to make for a starting passive buff. This buff in question is either Rhetoric Edge or Drunken Precision. Both are fairly decent for some of the minigames that you’ll encounter during your travels through the open world, and make some of the minigames smoother and easier. So, it’s a question of which one you want. Here’s a look at the Rhetoric Edge or Drunken Precision choice in Where Winds Meet.
Drunken Precision can make the aiming time of the Pitch Pot game easier, but it’s still relatively easy anyway. Image via Gamer Guides / NetEase.
Should You Choose Rhetoric Edge or Drunken Precision?¶
Let’s take a look at the effects before we jump in any further for the choice.
| Buff | Activity | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Drunken Precision | Pitch Pot minigame | Gives a “Tipsy” effect that shortens aim time and makes throwing/aiming in Pitch Pot easier. |
| Rhetoric Edge | Gift of the Gab minigame | Starts each debate with +2 Inspiration, giving an early advantage in card-based arguments. |
From our experience, the harder of the events tend to be the Gift of the Gab. Some of these missions, which are located fairly early on offer players a tough time to win them. The one near the ruined fort and the one in central Heaven’s Pier spring to mind as incredibly difficult early on. So, getting inspiration certainly helps clear these tasks.
We have not really found any hard pitch pots in our game, so, you may consider avoiding that option. Though, if you have slower reaction speed it might be something to consider still, since the game is a bit visually wonky (it pretends you are video game drunk) and you have to sort of react and aim your wobbling screen at a point. It’s not too hard, but it’s something to be aware of. The Drunken Precision reduces the sway and aiming time, making it much easier to do.
You can make the Gift of the Gab games easier to play by going the Scholar career. It’s arguably the least useful of the two careers in the public eyes, with Healers needed a lot for co-op activities. But, Scholars can do some stuff with false accusations in the criminal system. They can also custom make cards at the Crafting Zones, which can help win the harder battles to come. So it’s not entirely that big of a deal. But, for overall value, the Rhetoric Edge is arguably better value overall.
