How to get Strategic Sword
The Fivefold Bleed is an Innate skill players need for the Strategic Sword builds in Where Winds Meet. However, this weapon is fairly gated, thanks to it being part of a side mission, which requires you to get to Kaifeng in the first place. So, to make things simple, here’s a quick look at how to get the Fivefold Bleed in Where Winds Meet.
How to Get Fivefold Bleed¶

To get the Fivefold Bleed, you need to unlock Kaifeng City first. If you’re not already doing that then you need to:
- Complete the Blissful Retreat and Still Shore campaign
- Take a boat from the ferrymaster near Harvestfall Village
- Proceed the main storyline in Kaifeng’s outskirts to enter the City
Once you’re in the city, you are free to roam around a little. You now need to make your way to the Grand Imperial Temple, where the clue for the innate skill leads you towards. It is by the giant temple in the central eastern part of the city.
When you’re there speak to a monk in the small shrine in the top right corner of the temple. You will then need to complete a task lighting three different lights. There’s an NPC for each one in that building, which cycles each day. Feel free to skip time to speak to the different buddha monks and get the different tasks. Once you’re done, you will get the Fivefold Bleed skill.
How Fivefold Bleed Works¶
When getting this skill, you want to combine it with the Sword Horizon legendary skill for the Strategic Sword. The Fivefold Bleed has a 10% chance to apply one stack of Weeping Blood for 5 seconds when dealing damage, damaging the target once per second (up to 5 stacks, duration refreshed upon stacking). At 5 stacks, Weeping Blood will be removed from the target and deal piercing damage once. This will build more bleeds with passive damage.
Combine that with the Sword Horizon, and you will get double the procs from spending your 5 bleed stacks on the target. At max rank of Fivefold, you get to retain some stacks of bleeds, which synergizes once again as you can get more bleeds out, meaning more affinity, and more burst on your target. This Fivefold Bleed makes it a key scaling innate skill to grab for your Strategic Sword build.
| Tier | Breakthrough Tier Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | Increases the piercing damage by 100% |
| 2 | Increases Max Physical Attack based on Solo Mode level |
| 3 | If Weeping Blood fails to reach 5 stacks before expiry, there is still a 20% chance to deal piercing damage |
| 4 | Increases the chance to apply Weeping Blood to 15% |
| 5 | Increases Critical DMG Bonus by 3.5% |
| 6 | After dealing piercing damage and removing Weeping Blood, retains 1-2 stacks of Weeping Blood |
As you can see, the tier 4 and 6 are pretty key for rolling your bleeds through put onto targets to make your weapon extremely competitive for ramping your damage on boss battles especially.
