Player Housing is one of the most requested features in many RPGs. It’s the perfect place to store your belongings, decorate to show off your personality, and even your riches. Where Winds Meet is no different, with player housing offering players their own personal space in a busy city. Yet, there are a few interesting features to the game that need mentioning. Here’s a closer look at how to unlock Player Housing in Where Winds Meet, and how it works.

How to Unlock Player Housing in Where Winds Meet

Player housing rentals are the main way you’ll spend Commerce Coins in Where Winds Meet. Image via Gamer Guides / NetEase.

To unlock Player Housing, you will need to unlock Kaifeng first. This requires you to complete the Still Shore and Blissful Retreat campaign segments in the Qinghe campaign journal first. Once you have them done, you will get a main story mission to go to the docks near south of Blissful Retreat and take a boat to Kaifeng.

When you’re there, continue the main storyline, and complete the quest where you enter the main City itself, and then you’re largely free to explore most of the area.

When in the city, there are three buildings on the map known as Dwellings. There is a smaller house, medium house and mansion, each costing various amounts of Commerce Coins. You can then rent a dwelling for a month, each costing around a hundred, thousand to ten thousand Commerce Coins per month. The hundred is a simple apartment, the thousand is a small house and outhouse compound area, and the mansion is a massive building and estate in the city.

To rent one, you will need to visit the Southern Gate Avenue POI in the city itself and speak to the vendor at the stall there. Here is where you can rent the player housing locations, and do some Commerce Coin trades too.

What to Do with Player Housing

After renting a property, you can ten teleport and enter the player housing area. Image via Gamer Guides / NetEase.

When inside, you can use the construction menu to start decorating your property if you so wish. Image via Gamer Guides / NetEase.

Now you have a Player House, you will have an instanced area in your solo session that will be your space for the time being. You can build items in there to decorate your space. You may even build custom buildings in there if you so wish. To do so, you need to open the construction menu. You can often do this by opening the menu wheel, then checking the construction button, which is often RT / R2 on controllers.

This will open a menu for construction, allowing you to place actual building parts, to decorations and furniture using crafting materials like wood and ores. You can get more decorations and crafting pieces via rewards, sect tracks, co-op status levels, battle pass type tracks, and even vendors and traders around the map.

Also, renting a place allows you commerce storage, which helps your stockpile materials for the commerce feature. These houses will be places you can then trade these goods for money over the weeks as commerce trader rotates items. Helping your inventory size and crafting needs.

Constructing Your Own Player Housing

Alternatively, the construction system pretty much allows you to build anywhere on the map. Fancy a simple Chinese style cabin in the mountains? You can do that. You can build foundations, walls, doors, and even ladders to climb harder terrain. You won’t get any of the fast travel or commerce storage locations like you do with Kaifeng rentable Dwellings, but you can build more to your tastes. It’s one of the activities that players can get down to in their off time and looking for some more friendly casual content to work on. There’s some ridiculous custom player buildings in the Discord too.
