How to Get and Use Wind Sense
Bitter Seasons
Precision is one of the many stats players will come across in Where Winds Meet. This stat is fairly important for determining what type of damage you can deal with your attacks, and how reliably you can proc certain effects. However, it’s not a stat that every build wants, and understanding how it works is key to optimizing your playstyle. Here’s a closer look at what Precision does in Where Winds Meet.
Precision Rate Explained¶
Precision Rate is an important stat for enabling crit focused builds in Where Winds Meet. Image via Gamer Guides / NetEase.
The Precision rate stat is summarized as follows:
| Term | Description |
|---|---|
| Precision Rate | Chance to strike a target with Precision. Precision Hits have a chance to trigger Critical and Affinity. Non-Precision Hits have a chance to trigger Abrasion and Affinity. When Abrasion is triggered, the damage is calculated based on Min Attack. |
| Critical Hit | Chance to Critically Hit. Critical attacks deal an additional 35% damage and 50% additional healing. Critical Rate is affected by Precision. Only Precision Hits can be Critical Strikes |
In general, Precision is a preliminary stat that helps to proc other effects. High Precision is important for critical hit builds, while affinity focused builds would prefer lower precision in your gear sets, as Precision does not buff Affinity hits.
Critical strike focused builds, such as the Dual Blades will want precision to trigger the critical hits. DB and Rope Dart players take innate skills like Breaking Point which ramps critical damage against enemies who are exhausted. So when bosses’ Qi breaks and they are stunned, you can ideally use high precision stat bonuses, enter Flame stance and light attack combo spam, and use that to spam light attack combos for added critical damage during the Breaking Point windows with amped crit damage.
Meanwhile something like the Strategic Sword wants low precision, as Affinity is important for their bleed innate art skills. So, it’s important to limit or add Precision where possible. Though, some is fine since Abrasion is a chance for lower damage, and Precision means less of that happening too. So, some is fine, but Affinity is your main stat for those types of builds with Affinity synergy in the innate skill slots.
In general, Precision largely comes from attribute bonuses on gear, not just the set bonuses. It also comes in the form of talent build screens when you spend points on getting attributes, mystic art slots, and other stats.
