How to Get Dragon’s Breath¶
To start the quest that unlocks the Dragon Breath, you need to unlock Kaifeng city first.
- When that’s done, you can grab the quest chain to start it from the Fairground area of the city, located in the southeast corner by the pond area.
- As you enter the Fairgrounds, look for the following NPCs: Kongkong and Luo Jiu to start the quest chain.
- When you speak to them, the latter will task you to retrieve an item called the Travelogue: Toehari, which you need to steal from vendors to the west of the main southern gate entrance.
- Look for a vendor called Lian Yuan on the street to the west of the boundary stone, and steal it from him using Celestial Seize. If you don’t have this, you need to complete a short side mission in Heaven’s Pier to get it.
Now that you have the item, return back to the Fairgrounds and hand the item over. You will then complete the Dragon’s Breath Wandering Tale, which you can find in the Wandering Tale menu of the journal and claim your rewards.
Dragon Breath Stats¶
The Dragon Breath skill is a fairly handy spiritual art to use in combat. Using Dragon Breath puts you in an intoxicated state. You then breathe fire with Qi, dealing damage over 2 hits plus Ignition. Gain 15% Damage Reduction and Fortitude. The fire breath tends to flow in an arc from right to left over its duration.
This is a fairly decent skill for dealing with multiple threats at once. It can also be used for damage reduction if your build does not have it. The added fire status effect is also handy for debuffing enemies too if you like the fire divinecraft additions.
The other benefit of the skill is that it has synergy with the Drunken Poet mystic art too. When that is upgraded to tier 3, enemies with Ignition on them will explode when the attack from Drunken Poet goes off. The result is that it causes a detonation for bonus burst damage on the target. Dragon Breath applies Ignition, making it a strong pair, especially since they both have very low vitality costs together. This makes it a nice tactical use when your martial art skills are down, and you need to use alternative spiritual skills in your rotation. Especially since you don’t really need to increase Vitality to master.
