The Celestial Seize (translated to Heavenly Snatch in the global version) skill is one of the many skills players can unlock fairly early on in Where Winds Meet. The skill is acquired in Heaven’s Pier as part of an easy-to-miss side quest, which enables you to get things safely from a distance. However, if you want to roleplay as a thief or a criminal, then you can use this skill to steal from people too. It’s fairly handy for some of the more naughty things in the game. Here’s everything you need to know about the Celestial Seize in Where Winds Meet.

To get Celestial Seize in Where Winds Meet, you need to make your way to Heaven’s Pier. If you’ve not already got the main story here, progress it to unlock and find the zone with ease.
When you’re there, head into the village from the main Boundary Stone, and check on the left where the swindler is by the market stall. You should find a master called Qiu Yuehai by the stone wall that you can talk to. He will teach you to use Celestial Seize and steal the cheating item the drinking contest swindler uses. After that, challenge him to a contest, and you’ll expose he is a fraud. When the village starts chasing him off, return to the master by the wall and you’ll learn the move fully and complete that quest.
With the move in hand, you can now use that move in the wild whenever you’d like.

Now, when you’re around the world, you can use it to safely acquire items. There’s safe items like this, such as items the snake guards in the wild. This allows you to safely acquire those items or chests, or other rewards without putting yourself in the healing debuff and low HP risks that often come with them.
It is also useful for acquiring items from hard to reach places. Some areas in Kaifeng for example have a chest that you can steal, with guards patrolling nearby. That’s the only way to get those exploration rewards.
It is also incredibly useful for the Nine Mortal Ways sect. This is all about crime, trickery, disguising and thieving. You will need to steal for some of their missions, and the Celestial Seize is very handy for that.
In terms of combat practicality, it can be used to disarm opponents. In particular, the optional world boss for Yi Dao requires this to disarm his attacks. This stops some of his special moves, making some of those harder fights somewhat easier. It can disarm most opponents in PvE and PvP and use the weight of their weapon against them for damage.
All in all, it is a very useful skill to have, whether you want to use it for good or for bad.
