How to Get Dragon Keys in Where Winds Meet¶
There are three main ways you’ll get Dragon Keys, which are:
- Skill Theft: Unlearned Lesson
- Fort Clearing
- Breakthrough Rewards: Level 2 on the Breakthrough Reward tab
The first place you’ll want to get one from is the Skill Theft questline, which unlocks at level 8. This is located near the big spire in Qinghe, known as Peace Bell Tower towards the south west part of Qinghe. You should be able to see it on the map if you’ve spoken to the Wanderer in the three areas. From here, you will learn how to use Skill Theft to learn the Martial Art Styles of various weapons. You will also get one of them to use on a locked away dojo too.
Since a few of the dojos are like this, you’ll need to get more over time. This is where the Outposts come from. Players will need to defeat certain Outposts to get guaranteed keys from your first time clear. These are the Tiger Fort, Gourmand’s Grove, and Bloomveil Monastery outposts. You can get keys from any other Outpost Chest randomly too, but these are the three most confirmed outposts, all located in various areas of Qinghe.
The other method you get is via the Breakthrough Progression. This is sort of a battle pass menu you’ll gradually tick through over time. It unlocks at stage 21, which is relatively early on in the Breakthrough menu.
Where to Use Dragon Keys¶
When you get the keys, you can obtain new weapon quest, which often require Dragon Keys to enter those questing locations. Image via Gamer Guides / NetEase.
You’ll need to use the Dragon Keys on the pedestals outside of the locked away dojos for the following weapons:
- Panacea Fan - Near the Northern Bamboo Grave Boundary Stone
- Infernal Dual Blades - Crimson Cliff, near the Starfall Slring area.
- Strategic Sword - Encircling Lake,
- Heavenquake Spear - Wildsmane Ranch, across the river from General’s Shrine
- Inkwell Fan - Buddha Village, near the very northwest edge of the Sundara Land part of Qinghe.
To find the locations specifically, go into your menu, check Develop, go onto Weapons, then press the Obtain button on the bottom right of the screen when hovering over a weapon. It will zoom over the clue of the location for that weapon. If it’s a weapon inside Qinghe, then it means that you will need one of the Dragon Keys to enter the locations. The other weapons in Kaifeng don’t need the keys, but they often need a secondary mission to unlock the area.
Hope that helps to explain how the Dragon keys work and how you unlock additional weapons in Where Winds Meet.
