Where Winds Meet has two different large regions with the global launch of the game. The starter region, Qinghe with its three distinct mini regions, and Kaifeng, with its city, and northern and southern provinces. While you start the game in Qinghe, Kaifeng is where you’ll unlock more weapons, systems and even player housing. Yet, the region is locked for a while. How to Get to Kaifeng¶
To get to Kaifeng in Where Winds Meet, players will need to progress to the third chapter of the main storyline. To do so, you need to complete the following:
- Work your way through the main storyline, and complete both story combat bosses, ending with Heaven’s Pier - For Whom Does He Return.
- You will need to be about level 35 to start the second phase of the first act of the main storyline to reach the For Whom Does He Return part of the chain.
- On your Journal, it will show up as needing to complete the Still Shore and Blissful retreat campaign blocks
- With that finished, you will unlock Chapter 2 of the main storyline. You will get a quest that asks you to go to the Dockmaster near Blissful Retreat and Harvestfall Village.
- Speaking to the Dockmaster will take you aboard to Kaifeng as part of the main storyline.
When you arrive, you will officially unlock the area as part of your quest. Although, you will need to complete the main storyline a little bit before you can properly free roam most of the area. You will get access to the Kaifeng main city as part of the quest. You will need to progress even further in the main storyline to unlock the northern province of Kaifeng though, which will be when you’re nearing level 50.
When you get access to Kaifeng, many new features will await you. Players can find more side content, weapon unlocks for the Thundercry Blade, Rope Dart, and even some of the Fan and Umbrella weapons in there. You can also unlock the Player Housing Feature, learn more about the actual Commerce Coin side of the game, and even grab the Disguise feature too, which is handy for some missions and Sect activity for the Rope Dart Sect. There’s certainly a lot you need it for. So hopefully that helps you out.
