Far Fields is one of those Act 1 areas that players go to, but, like with Metroidvania fashion, there’s a very large area you’ve not been to yet. When you get access to more endgame movement skills, like in Act 2, and later 3, you will be able to traverse this area to get a lot of new features. Here’s everything you need to know about getting to Far Fields’ secret area in Hollow Knight Silksong.
How to get to the Far Fields Secret Area¶

Before we go super into detail, there are two different secret areas in Far Fields.
- The first requires you to have the
Drifter’s Cloak, which you get from the Seamstress in the Far Fields bottom area. You’ll also need Wall Cling too to access it. - The second one requires you have Sky Soar, which is an Act 3 ability. You’ll also need the
Clawline and 
Faydown Cloak for some extra control.

Far Fields Secret Area - Early Game¶

The first area you can visit is next to the Bellway in Far Fields. Go to where the bell beast is, and then walk under the platform and go right.
It takes you to one of the air vents, which can lead through a winding area to get new air vents.
The general aim is to navigate around these air vent areas and unlock a secret way back into the Pilgrim’s Rest area via that metal gate to the right of it. There’s also a reward here for a sleepy missing flea location too.
Do be careful though as there are hostiles in the area that can hurt you. Thankfully there is a bench at the Bellway to rest at if you do die failing the platforming challenges. Oh and there are red flower hazards everywhere too.
In general, try to control your fall the best you can, and look for wall clings where possible with air dashes. Don’t jump too far from the wall clings either, as you can easily bounce into a red flower area and take some mask damage.
Act 3 Far Fields Secret Area¶

Now, for the major secret area of the map. You will need to make it to Act 3. If you don’t already know how to do that, you need to do the 
Silk and Soul wishes, and then defeat the end of Act 2 boss and trap the boss when the option comes up. We’ve got more info on that in our ending guide, since it’s an achievement, despite not being an ending.
Anyway, to access this area, you need to progress through to the large totem room, where you first met Gilly in the 
Hunter’s March region. It’s sort of the middle right part of the zone. Map Marker
From here you need to use the Sky Soar skill to go directly upwards. You will get this from Act 3 as part of the Abyss content when you wake up entering the third act. From here, you should be able to climb up, get the secret area noise, and continue right. It will take you to a ledge where you can create a bridge that leads over from the March, into the large vertical air duct area, and allows you to enter the Far Fields secret area.
Inside, there’s actually quite a lot of content. There are a few bosses to beat, and another appearance from Gilly too. There are a few wishes down here as well that you can grab, alongside rewards like 
Mask Shards. If you’re hunting for the 100% completionism achievements, then you’ll want to do that too.
Oh and there’s also a wall you can blow up from that side that takes you to the very top right of the room where Pilgrim’s Rest is. It’s a nice way to get a bench without having to do that super long run again.
