"Silk Heart" iconSilk Hearts are one of those strange items that players can find around the world as they explore. However, it is not obvious what they do entirely. To answer that question, they are power ups that grant you better passive regeneration of Silk. There’s plenty you can find to give your empty silk spool some buffs. Here’s everything you need to know about Silk Hearts in Hollow Knight Silksong.

All Silkheart locations

As it stands, there are three Silk Hearts in Hollow Knight Silksong. You can get them from:

The Bell "Beast" iconBeast is one of the first bosses you find in the game, located in the Moss Grotto. You will pick up the Silk Heart before you even realize what’s going on.

After that, the next bosses can be easily missed, or not noticed till the end of the game. The main example is The Unravelled, who is under the "Surgeon" iconSurgeon trap door in the Whiteward / Underworks region. You will need the "Surgeon’s Key" iconSurgeon’s Key to open it, which you get from the top right room of Whiteward, accessible via the "Clawline" iconClawline skill. You can acquire that from the Underworks area.

The other one is Lace. No this is not the place you battled in Deep Docks. She appears again throughout the game, and can find her in the Cradle when you’re ready to complete Act 2.

What do Silkhearts do

Silk Hearts will passively allow you to regenerate Silk as you deplete your resource. For every heart you get, you get one bar of Silk regeneration. This is very handy as the better regeneration means you can get back to using silk for tools, or even using your skill movement abilities.

The most notable of its uses come in Mount Fay, where you need to parkour all the way up the mountain. It’s very easy to run out of silk when messing up the platforming, and being able to regenerate silk can be very important for progressing with haste.

Then, there’s the added benefit that you can fight hard bosses, knowing if you use your silk to heal or use skills, then you have some silk regenerating. That’s less hits, especially combined with the Reaper’s Crest to get back to a more plentiful "Silk Spool" iconSilk Spool to use in combat once again.
