Reaper’s Crest is one of the few different playstyles you can get in Hollow Knight Silksong. Crests allow players to change their playstyle. These are really good for diversifying your combat style, your passive skills, and even expanding your toolbelt to a degree. The Reapers is a great one, as it lets players get a new slash skill, instead of their diagonal dive attack. In addition, you get a very strong Silk recovery from it, alongside more toolbelt space.
How to get Reapers Crest¶

To get the Reapers Crest, you need to visit the Chapel of the Reaper. This is located in in the Greymoor area, near enough directly above where the Flea Caravan arrives, or where the Moothmoore boss fight takes place.
To access this location, go towards the firefly Inn called Halfway Home and go left. From there, climb up to left to reach an elevated area in the room you want to be above the caravan spot. Parkour with dashes over to the left, and you should eventually find pathways into an area with candles lit up. Follow those pathways and you should come across a door to enter.
When you enter, follow the downwards path, and then go right. You should find a wheel with spikes spinning around. Use your pogo skills to bounce off the blades to reach th next platform section. Do it again to reach the top and hit the pin to open the path upwards. From there, continue to platform up to reach the top. Bind with the platform at the top three times to unlock the Reapers Crest.
What does Reapers Crest Do?¶

The Reapers Crest offers players the ability to trade their pogo attack. Players will get a downward arc slash, rather than the diagonal spike skill you start the game with. You cna also slash while dashing too with a sideways cleave. The slash also extracts more silk per attack than normal. It’s handy for when you want to spend more on your abilities or if you like to heal a lot in fights.
The other benefit is that the tool belt can be expanded a great deal. Your basic one only has room for one offense, defense and utility. But, by getting your hands on Memory Cores, you can expand the tool belt. It means you can have two offensives if you want to, more defenses or other combinations depending on what you want to prioritize.
You could do something like the Flea Brew (which you get from The Lost Fleas Wish reward) and Flint Slate (simple key door reward from Docks) combination to do more damage and attack faster. Or, perhaps you like using the double defensive tool of the Warding Bell (in the Far Field area) for its shield while you bind and and get the Druid’s Eye (reward from the Perry Picking Wish) for the dropped silk when hit to really emphasize your silk generation via the Reaper’s Crest specialty.
