The Mist Walthrough
Mount Fay Walkthrough & Route to Get Double Jump (Faydown Cloak)
Bilewater is a strange area in Hollow Knight Silksong. The area is accessible in Act 1, and you can explore it after venturing from the Sinner’s Road area, either the right access point near the Simple Key, or via the top left side and platforming up. But, past a certain point, you wont be to climb, needing the double jump to get up there. No matter what bit of content you’re doing, you’re bound to run into bench issues as its a very large zone, and has the parasite mechanic you need to watch for. Here’s everything you need to know about the Bilewater bench locations to assist your exploration.
All Bilewater Benches and their locations¶
Here are all the Bilewater Benches we have found in Hollow Knight Silksong. Image via Gamer Guides.
In total, there are 4 benches spread around the world. There’s a fake 5th one too, which you need to watch out for. Also, there’s some trickery with the zone in regards to getting all of the benches. We’ll run it in what we believe to be the cannon order. Feel free top check our Silksong interactive map for reference.
- Enter the zone from the right side of Sinner’s Road. Follow the pathway right, then up, to double back on yourself left. You should fall down into an area for a bench. Map Marker
- From Organ Exhaust bench you can either access it via the left side of Sinners Road and climb up through the Mists map. When you’re successful, you need to enter the Exhaust and take the left pathway to reach the Bench. If you’re at the first bench, there’s a breakable wall to the left which allows you to enter the Organ area. Map Marker
- The Mists is a strange mini zone, and requires you to use the Needlevin on the glowing butterflies to find the right exit you need to take. Do it enough times and you will enter the Exhaust Organ properly.
Players can unlock a bench via the 90 Rosary cost near the Bellway in the bottom right of the zone, near the smashable wall that leads to the Organ sub area.

- The next one should be the one in the very top right of the map. You will need to unlock double jump from deeper into the second act to be able to climb up here. You will also unlock the Bilewater
Map too from double jumping through the main vertical chamber in Bilewater. Keep going up that, take a left, and then climb up that and head right when you can. Follow the pathway down than take the bottom right tunnel that goes down to find the next bench. You can then break a wall and get a shortcut back to the vertical room Map Marker - The fourth bench is inside the Bilehaven village area. However, to activate this, you need to beat the fight room that activates when you enter. Defeating the waves of enemies will then spawn the boss. The boss has a simple suck, so don’t get eaten by dashing away. Do damage, avoid the explosive balls he spits, and part way through the fight when he enrages it will spawn more adds. It’s a tough fight. When its dead, the bench will eventually spawn in.Map Marker
- The 5th one is technically a trap. The trap bench location is the one on the top left of the Bilewater area. It will unlock a shortcut to climb up the vertical room though, avoiding some of the bugs. Map Marker

Boss Bench Strategies¶
There’s a long run to the boss from the Bilewater Benches to reach the final boss. Image via Gamer Guides / Team Cherry.
Now, in terms of progressing the boss, there’s two benches you could use. You could use bench 2 and climb out of the main vertical room and do the long route. While that bench is far away, you have some control over not getting parasites on you at the cost of running the platforming enemies again.
The other options is to use the third bench we mentioned. However, escaping that pit will often result in your getting parasites on you. Thankfully, the boss room has a lot of enemies and a tough boss to kill. So, you’ll always have silk at least to heal from regardless of it slowly withering away. Consider using the Druid’s tool that you get from the Berry Picking Wish to get more silk from fighting and getting hit to compensate the parasite chewing through your silk.
Once the boss is down, you can enter a room and get your hands on an item needed for an end game Wish, the Seeker’s Soul.
