The Mask Maker is one of the NPCs that you can either naturally find in the Mount Fay region, or will need to visit as part of some late game wishes. Regardless of your journey, the NPC features several times. So, here’s where to find the Mask Maker in Hollow Knight Silksong.

You can find the location of the Mask Maker at the very top left of the Mount Fay region after unlocking the Faydown Cloak. Image via Gamer Guides / Team Cherry

To find the Mask Maker, you need to head to the top left of the Mount Fay region. To access this location, you need to first complete the main Mount Fay pathway and collect the Faydown Cloak. This allows the user to unlock the double jump ability, which you’ll need to parkour through to the climb for the Mask Maker’s residence.. You can cross reference the location via our Hollow Knight Silksong interactive map for the Mount Fay region.

When you’re at the top of Mount Fay, go down the slope going down and left. This slope will take you to a point where you remain flat, which unlocks a shortcut back to the mountain carts area leading towards the bottom left. From her,e go left, and follow the platforming area that leads to the top left. Use your double jump and clawline skills to platform all the way up through the top left mountain area.

When you enter his house, you can get some lore when speaking to him. If you hit him with some heavy tools, a Clawline ability, or charged attack when you get it, then these are reported to take the mask off. With the mask off, the Mask Maker gets different lore conversations.

Why you need to visit the Mask Maker¶

The Mask Maker is sued in a few different features. One of the reasons you need to visit him is for the upgrade Silkshot.The Silkshot is a tool that players can use, and will need to be upgraded three times. You will need to get the Ruined Tool though, located in the bottom right of Bilewater, and then take it to the Architect, Forge Daughter and the Mask Maker to complete that mini quest.

You also need to go to the Mask Maker as part of the Liquid Lacquer mission. This is a ferry mission which you get from the Bellhart town. Speak to the Courier NPCs when they unlock, and you should get the wish to bring this Lacquer to the Mask Maker in Mount Fay.
