Rite of the Pollip Walkthrough & Pollip Heart Locations
Crawbug Clearing Wish Walkthrough
You will happen upon a number of friendly NPCs in Hollow Knight: Silksong that ask you to do something. One particular NPC in Far Fields has a Wish quest for you that’s actually required to progress in the main story. This quest will ask you to find Hokers in a nearby cave and retrieve their Spine Cores, with the seamtress using them to make you a Drifter’s Cloak. This page will detail where to start Flexible Spines, as well as how to collect the Spine Cores.
Flexible Spines Location¶
After defeat Lace in Deep Docks, you can continue to the right of her to enter a new area, Far Fields. This area is filled with perilous enemies that can prove to be more of a challenge in combat, but keep going to the right until you enter a tall, vertical corridor. Head down in this area, until you reach the lowest path that takes you to the east. If you’re crossing some stones in the lava, then you’re on the right path.
Drop down to the bottom of this very large room, being mindful of the large enemy, since it will do a flurry of slices when close enough, and cross to the right. Climb up, then make your way back to the left, where you should be able to reach the central wooden platform. There is a large building here, so enter it to find the Seamtress. She’ll offer to help you, as long as you bring her some Spine Cores.
Spine Core Locations¶
Once you have the quest in your log, return to the right and look for the exit to the right. This leads to a grassy area, which is what you want. Keep going right and you’ll eventually see an enemy with some spikes sticking out of it. This is the Hoker and you’ll be collecting those spikes. However, it’s a bit confusing on how you go about gathering them, since just beating them up won’t yield anything.
Whenever you hit one of the Hokers, they will shoot their spikes out, straight in the direction they’re facing. What you might miss is the fact the spikes stay in the surface of whatever they hit. If you smack the embedded spike, it will turn into an item that you can collect, called a Spine Core. Yep, you’re aiming to get as many Spine Cores from the ones they shoot out. This one Hoker is more than enough, as you can exit to the right to respawn it, if you want.
You’ll need a total of 25 Spine Cores to finish the quest, so keep going until you hit a spike that yields nothing at all. When that happens, you’re done here and can return to the Seamtress.
Flexible Spines Rewards¶
Your sole reward for completing this quest is the Drifter’s Cloak, an item that allows you to float by holding the jump button in the air. The main use of this, though, is the updrafts you’ve been seeing throughout this entire area. When you float over these, the wind current will lift you into the air, allowing you to reach higher platforms.
