Hollow Knight: Silksong

Best Rosary Farming Spots

One of the main currencies in Hollow Knight: Silksong is Rosaries, little beads that will be used to buy items from the various shops you encounter. They are also used to unlock some Benches and even the Bellways (fast travel points), so you’re going to be needing a lot of the Rosaries. The unfortunate thing is not all of the enemies you defeat will drop them, so you might be pinching pennies for a while, especially towards the start of the game. This page will go over some of the best spots for farming Rosaries.

Mosshome Farming Spot

The earliest farming spot in the game is found in the Mosshome area, a sub-area of Moss Grotto, the starting region. Once you make your way to Bone Bottom, the little town in Moss Grotto, continue to the right to make your way to The Marrow, the second region. As you climb up this area, you will eventually meet with Shakra, the map maker for Silksong. Near her will be the entrance to the Mosshome area, which will probably be the first instance of enemies that drop Rosaries. Note the Bench just to the left of Shakra, which is the key to this farm.

(1 of 5) The first farming spot is located just west of where you meet Shakra in The Marrow.

Exit to the left of the Bench and you will find two enemies to kill, who drop 5 Rosaries each. Continue to the left and drop down off the ledge, to find another enemy. To the right of that one will be a fourth enemy, then you can circle around back to the left for a fifth foe. There is one of those annoying flying enemies here, too, but it doesn’t drop Rosaries, so you can largely ignore it, if you want. So, with five enemies here, you will get a total of 25 Rosaries and it’s a short trip back to the Bench, where you can rest to respawn the enemies.

The only problem with this farm is that it’s rather slow, especially at the start, but that’s all because your movements are restricted. However, it is possible to get chunk of Rosaries at the beginning, especially if you want to get something like the Crest of the Wanderer early, or some of the other higher priced items. You’ll also want to keep a good chunk stockpiled for future purchases, as well as when you explore and happen upon Benches/Bellways.

Greymoor Farming Spot

A second spot for farming some Rosaries happens to open up once you get to Greymoor. Upon just arriving in the area, you can head to the right to find Shakra, who will be sitting there, with a resting Bench right next to her. That is important, because this is how you’ll be respawning enemies. Once you find that, return to where you first came into Greymoor and head left this time, into the nearby cave. You’ll know you’re in the correct spot, as there will be water inside here. This is the farming spot, with there being a total of six enemies.

The first two enemies are ones you’ve already encountered from the previous spot above, but three other ones are new. The third enemy will be on a ledge and it’s quite easy to knock it into the water, which will destroy the Rosaries, should you do so. Instead, you can actually hit that enemy from below and you’ll probably want to “coerce” it to move towards the right side. The second set of enemies will be right after the second pool of water. You’ll have a slightly bigger enemy, with a large hammer-like weapon, which is easy to kill by simply employing hit-and-run tactics.

(1 of 3) The enemies in the first cave to the left of where you enter Greymoor are great for farming Rosaries.

There’s also another familiar enemy, but it’s that third enemy that’s a bit annoying. It’s the same on that was on the ledge, but you’ll see it continually runs away from you while tossing bells. So, you’ll have to be a bit more aggressive and might have to jump/dash over its head to make sure it doesn’t go too close to the exit, or too close to the water. Overall, if you manage to kill all of the enemies, you’re going to get around 50 or so Rosaries per run. It takes a little longer, since you have to run back to Shakra to use her Bench there.

If you do the building to the right of Shakra here in Graymoor, you will unlock some balloons outside that allow you to explore a good portion of the above area. This allows you to reach a more permanent Bench, pretty much right above Shakra, as well as create a shortcut to it, so you don’t lose out on this farming area.
