How to Wall Jump (Cling Grip) in Silksong
Forge Daughter: Items and Tips
There are multiple abilities in Hollow Knight Silksong, some of which will help you traverse the game’s world. As you explore various areas, you will see some hoops on chains that seemingly do something. In order to use these, you will need to find the
Clawline ability, which is this game’s version of the grappling hook. You won’t be able to get this until Act 2 of the game, though, so it will be a little bit before you’re able to acquire it. Read on to find out when you can go for the Clawline, as well as how to get it.
White Key Location¶
Before thinking about going for this, you will need to enter Act 2, which is done by either defeating the Last Judge boss right outside the
Grand Gate after passing through Blasted Steps, or defeating Phantom after passing through The Mist and the Exhaust Organ area of Bilewater. Once you do that, you will be given access to explore Choral Chambers, which you will need to do. At the top of the Choral Chambers, fight the Cogwork Dancers boss to gain access to the top right portion. It is there that you’ll discover Songclave, a respite for the weary travelers.
The White Key is found in the corner of Songclave, to the right of the bench.
If you don’t see it there, you’ll have to do this quest to buy it from the merchant after.
To the right of the building you can enter, in the very far right corner, you should see an item on the ground, which is the
White Key. If you happen to ring the bell inside the building before doing this, though, you might not see the key on the ground anymore. Should that happen, leave and come back to find a Wishwall there, where you’ll want to take
The Wandering Merchant quest. Do this to rescue Jubliana and when she gets back to Songclave, you will see she has the White Key to sell to you.
How to Find Whiteward¶
With the White Key in hand, you can now make your way to the elevator that uses it. You might have already found it, but if not, you will be able to find it close to the Choral Chambers Ventrica in the southwest corner of the Choral Chambers area. Look at your map and you’ll see a long horizontal hallway right above where it says “Choral Chambers” on the map. Take the left exit and go all the way to the bottom of this vertical corridor, then go right to find yourself at the elevator that takes you to Whiteward.
Whiteward is pretty linear, as far as where you need to go, so just follow the rooms until you reach the far eastern side. From there, you can drop down into the eastern side of the Underworks, just north of The Cauldron sub-section. Go left into a bigger room (there’s a way to reach the Twelfth
Architect in here, who can sell you some things, once you have the ability), then left one more room, to a vertical corridor. If you see lava in the background and a bunch of the little bugs that spin blades when you get close, you’re in the correct spot.
In this room, go all the way to the very bottom, minding the lava, then head to the room on the right. Note that there are some new enemies here that explode after some time has passed, but you can hit them to knock them back. This horizontal corridor will have a bunch of lava falling from the ceiling, so avoid that as you make your way to the right. Cling to the wall at the end to make it to the opening on the ceiling. In here, climb up until you reach the second exit on the left, where you will hop across some platforms and finally secure you Clawline ability.
Note that Clawline uses silk to use, so make sure you always have some on hand before you do things. With this ability now in your possession, you can head to Mount Fay to try and get the Faydown Cloak, which grants you double jump!
