By now, you’ve probably noticed there are many platforming areas which are just too high out of reach. The only way you get there if there’s some sort of double jump or wall jump feature. We are happy to report there is a Wall Jump in Hollow Knight Silksong, as you will need to unlock the Cling Grip skill to perform this feat. Here’s how to unlock Hornet’s Cling Grip ability to wall jump to new areas.

To Wall Jump, you will need to make your way to the Shellwood region of Act 1. The region is located above the Marrow, and can be accessed via Greymoor and Bellhart initially.

When you enter Shellwood, you will need to:

1. Make your way to the spire at the op of the top left area of the Shellwood. You’ll be able to aerial attack up different pathways and then platform to reach the top. You can start by doing the following:
2. Find Shakra’s camp towards the bottom middle area.
3. Platform up and right to reach a new verticle room.
4. Platform up there to reach a pathway that goes left.
5. You’ll need to fight a boss here called Sister Splinter to progress this section.
6. Once she is defeated, continue going left and then follow the platforming to reach the top of that new room.

With the Cling Grip unlocked, you should now be able to wall jump across new areas. You’ll need this skill to progress the Wish you unlock in this area called the Rite of the Pollip. It’s also important for many area’s you’ll have missed, like in the Marrow, Greymoor, and Far Fields to name a few.
