Sand Carvers is one of the enemies that players can find in the journal of Hollow Knight Silksong. Unlike the regular enemies you’ll find platforming, these are tucked away in the sand pits of Blasted Steps. If you’re going for 100% completionism, then you will need to hunt these down and get the kills. Here’s everything you need to know about the Sand Carvers in Hollow Knight Silksong.

How to kill Sand Carvers¶
To kill Sand Carvers, you will need to find the sand pits in the Blasted Sands area. When you approach them, the little sand worm creatures will appear, chomping at your direction. Now, to kill them, you need to throw a tool at them. Ideally, you need a tool that can get into the sand and then detonate later. We used the Pompillo for this, a sort of bouncing grenade that explodes on contact or after a few bounces. Here’s all the tools we know so far that can work:
Pimpillo - Requires crafting with one craftmetal, found in a secret room in the top left of Greymoor. From the Flea Caravan bench or the 
Moorwing fight arena, go directly up and reach the top left hidden room. When you’re there, smack the top left again and break the roof to enter that secret room. Map Marker
Cogfly - A tool that creates a little fly that buzzes around, crafted from High Halls with one Craftnmetal. Map Marker
Once you have your tool ready, go to the bench, resupply with your shards, and then find a nice sand pit and throw them in. You will get a kill when the sand erupts and bits of sand worm parts shoot up with the sand, as seen in the image above. Check back at your journal to see if the kill count has gone down to get the completionist description of the beast journal.
