Chapter 1 Shrines¶
Chapter 1 of WUCHANG takes place in Worship’s Rise, and there are a total of 12 to track down. You must get these before you proceed into Chapter 4, or you will miss them on your playthrough.
Reverent Temple¶
A simple one to start with, you’ll find it just outside the temple that you start the game at.
Buddha Cliffs¶
On the main path, after you leave
Reverent Temple. You’ll make your way up some scaffolding and eventually find this Shrine at the top, near a shortcut ladder.
Lightzen Temple¶
Once you descend the cliffs, you’ll eventually make your way around to
Lightzen Temple, which is on the main path. Once you enter, beware of the nearby enemies and then go forward to find the Shrine.
Shu Sanctum¶
After defeating the boss at Lightzen Temple, you’ll get a key, use this on the locked door near the Shrine to press onwards. Follow the path through the village to
Shu Sanctum by either going left after climbing the stairs and taking out the difficult enemy, or the easier path to the right.
Annalum¶
This is an optional Shrine, to reach it, you must leave Shu Sanctum and take the invisible bridge to your right (look for the glowing stone in midair), then follow this path up to the village of Worship’s Rise and then head through it until you fight the
Face-Changer that drops the
Infernal Flames spell in a courtyard. To the left of this courtyard is a path that eventually leads to
Annalum, where you’ll find the Shrine.
Mercury Workshop¶
Once you defeat the boss at the top of Shu Sanctum, you’ll be able to head below the temple and into the
Mercury Workshop. This Shrine is on the main path as you descend, it’s hard to miss.
Bandit Cave¶
This is part of the main path, and is available at the bottom of the workshop, just before you head to the boss.
Doomwillow Beach¶
Another Shrine on the main path, you’ll head into
Doomwillow Beach after you leave the
Bandit Cave, the path will open before splitting, and the Shrine can be found here. Beware, however, that the Shrine is initially a mimic, so defeat it first before you can use it.
Lu Mansion¶
This is an optional Shrine found in the Doomwillow Beach area, from the previous shrine, look for another path lead upwards from the way you entered and follow it all the way to the top to find a burnt down mansion, with the shrine to the left of it at the top of a cliff.
Corpse Pits¶
This is a Shrine on the main path that you can’t miss, found just after you defeat the boss at the end of Doomwillow Beach.
Palace Hill¶
On the main path as you work your way through the Tang Emperor’s Palace at the end of the chapter. You’ll make your way up a path at the back of the area and you’ll run into this Shrine, near where you drain the water in the
Lotus Pond.
Lotus Pond¶
This is an extremely easy to miss Shrine, as although you fight the final boss of Chapter 1 here (it’s located in the center of the Palace, where you drained the water), you’ll actually begin Chapter 2 back at Reverent Temple. There is never another reason to revisit this area and thus, if you hit Chapter 4, you’ll miss it forever.
Chapter 2 Shrines¶
Just like the first Chapter, you’ll find a total of 12 Shrines to locate in Chapter 2, Cloudspire. It’s important to note that you can leave Cloudspire via a cave in
Hillswatch at the start of Chapter 2 and tackle the Chapter 3 areas, we advise against this as it will break many NPC quests.
Hillswatch¶
On the main path, reached by descending the cave accessed by unlocking the door in Reverent Temple’s courtyard. This path leads to a cave that eventually leads to a stone bridge that will take you to Hillswatch, where you’ll find the Shrine.
Snowy Passage¶
Found on the main path after leaving Hillswatch via the top exit. You’ll follow a path that leads to a cave, where the Shrine can be found.
Cloudspire Outskirts¶
Access
Cloudspire Outskirts through the large double doors near the previous Shrine and work your way up, you’ll eventually find the Shrine near a locked gate (unlocked from the other side), at the foot of one of the beacon towers.
Mort Grotto¶
This mine, and Shrine, sits bang in the middle of the Cloudspire region, as such, you’ll be able to get into it multiple ways. The easiest way, however, is by heading right from
Snowy Passage (instead of into Cloudspire Outskirts) and then crossing over the bridge on the right to reach the mines, you’ll find the Shrine further inside.
Rebel Camp¶
The
Rebel Camp Shrine can be accessed either through heading north through Cloudspire Outskirts, or climbing the large ladder at
Mort Grotto (via the tunnel near the Shrine).
(1 of 3) You can reach Mort Grotto’s Shrine by coming through the mine itself, or dropping from above onto this sigil.
Snowpeak Pass¶
On the main path, after you either defeat the boss at Rebel Camp, or light three beacons at Cloudspire Outskirts, a drawbridge will drop. To reach this, head up the slope from Cloudspire Outskirt’s Shrine and you’ll be able to use the Shrine after defeating the boss there.
Cloudspire City¶
From the previous Shrine, you’ll work your way through
Snowpeak Pass and eventually, you’ll reach
Cloudspire City. The Shrine can be found a little forward from the house you can enter.
Snowfall Palace¶
Found on the main path after leaving Cloudspire City, you can’t miss this.
Treasure Trove¶
From the
Snowfall Palace Shrine, head right at the stairs (instead of taking them to the Palace itself), and you’ll find a lift leading down that takes you into
Treasure Trove. Defeat the boss in the large room just beyond to have the Shrine appear after.
Shaft Entrance¶
On the main path, found almost straight after the previous Shrine. Go forward and you’ll find a lift that takes you down to the
Shaft Entrance Shrine.
Bride’s Boudoir¶
As you descend the Shaft, you’ll find a large bridge that leads into
Bride’s Boudoir, this Shrine sits just in front of it. You can accidentally skip this if you take the optional path by following the boulder down, so progress through this area naturally the first time and you won’t miss it.
Wedding Hall¶
Once you defeat the final boss of Chapter 2, this Shrine will appear in the boss arena.
Chapter 3 Shrines¶
Chapter 3 sees you heading to Mt. Zhenwu, and although there is technically one extra Shrine here, for a total of 13, you’ll need to wait until the closing stages of the game on a specific ending route before you can claim it.
Battlefield Pass¶
The first Shrine in Chapter 3,
Battlefield Pass, is hard to miss on the main path. You’ll have to take the cave near the start of Hillswatch to reach it, and it will bring you out to Battlefield Pass, where the Shrine awaits.
Refugee Camp¶
This is the next big social hub, and your first since Shu Sanctum. This is on the main path, and you’ll reach it once you exit Battlefield Pass and take the ladder into the camp. From here, go across the bridge and up to the right to find the Shrine.
Avian Dwelling¶
This entire part of Chapter 3 is completely optional, but you won’t want to miss it due to all of the goodies you can find here. Take the ladder down at the
Refugee Camp and you’ll enter the forest, where you’ll soon find the Shrine by sticking to the right in the open area and following a slope up.
Avian Marsh¶
Follow the path to the left in the
Avian Dwelling and you’ll eventually reach a ladder leading down, go down and look to your right to find the Shrine.
The Tomb¶
This is arguably the easiest Shrine to miss in the game, and you won’t be able to register it until the final Chapter and if you’ve been following the White-Robed Elder‘s quest to its conclusion. You’ll find The
Tomb by heading across the shortcut tree near the Avian Dwelling Shrine and then keep going forward (instead of right towards the boss of Avian Dwelling).
Zhenwu Antechamber¶
This Shrine is on the main path, and hard to miss, once you finally reach Zhenwu Temple. After climbing the large stairs and dealing with the enemies along the way, you’ll find this Shrine.
(1 of 3) The Refugee Camp is another Shrine that acts like as a hub for many characters.
Pavilion of Knowledge¶
As you navigate through the large Temple area here on Mt. Zhenwu, you’ll finally reach the top of the trap-filled temple, where you’ll then find yourself in a cave, the Shrine cannot be missed, just beware of another mimic!
Altar Gate¶
After leaving the Pavilion Knowledge from the upper exit, you’ll go across a rooftop and then drop onto a path leading out of the temple area. Head to the top of the area with the cannons and you’ll find the Shrine just before the boss arena.
Ferry Overlook¶
This is another easy one to miss, as after you finish the boss at
Altar Gate and head down the main path, you’ll find the Storyteller who will whisk you off to Chapter 4. Ignore that for now and instead head into the cave behind him and follow it back outside, the Shrine can be found on the bridge leading to the overlook.
Bai Mansion¶
At the
Ferry Overlook area, you’ll find a boat you can interact with, do so and it will take you over to this area, where you’ll find the Shrine on your left as you head up the stairs.
Rivulet¶
A simple one to find, provided you made your way to
Bai Mansion. After defeating the poss in the large open area, you’ll find this Shrine will appear.
Chapter 4 Shrines¶
As you begin to reach the closing stages of your journey, you’ll make a return to Worship’s Rise in different circumstances. There are a total of nine Shrines to find here in this Chapter.
Annalum¶
You’ll begin the Chapter here in Annalum, which now acts as an NPC hub for the area as the various characters you’ve met on your journey have taken refuge here. You’ll find the Shrine as you leave the grounds, you can’t miss it.
Shu Sanctum¶
Found on the main path as you navigate back through Worship’s Rise, you’ll come into the temple via the shortcut tree at the top, close to where you fought Lu Hongliu.
Annalum Courtyard¶
Another easy to miss Shrine, leave Shu Sanctum via the upper exit and follow the path right. Go left when you can, to the top of the hill, and then look for an invisible bridge that stretches out, follow this to the
Annalum Courtyard Shrine, just beware of the mimic first!
Palace Vegetable Garden¶
Leave Shu Sanctum from the top exit again, going right, but this time, take the stairs down and follow the path to the end and you’ll find yourself back in the Palace. Go into the center, where you fought Honglan in Chapter 1, and go up the path behind the statue to find a Benediction Gate, go through this and you’ll find the Shrine just up ahead.
The Annalum Shrine in Chapter 4 can be found just outside.
You’ll need to cross this invisible bridge to get to the Annalum Courtyard Shrine.
Palace Pass¶
You’ll want to head to the front of the Palace where a skirmish is taking place, go through the large double doors and follow the path to the next Shrine.
Palace Entrance¶
Once you defeat the boss at the end of
Palace Pass, a gate will appear that will whisk you off to the Palace, where you’ll immediately find this Shrine.
Bo Shrine¶
After you defeat the boss at the end of the Palace area, and are not on the ending path mentioned above, this Shrine will appear in the Boss arena.
Reverent Temple¶
You’ll return here from Shu Sanctum, via the way of the Bamboo Path, when on the main story path in Chapter 4. The Shrine can be found in the exact same place as the original’s.
Burning Cave¶
From the top of Reverent Temple, return to the cave that Wuchang found herself at the start of your adventure and you’ll be able to go further into the back. Just before you take the stairs down to the boss, you’ll find this Shrine.
Chapter 5 Shrines¶
This final Chapter is completely missable if you were on the Successor of the Bo Ending route, as the game will end in Chapter 4 as a result. There are five Shrines to track down in this final area, with one of them being easy to miss.
Capital Entrance¶
Following the end of Chapter 4, you’ll find yourself automatically in front of this Shrine, you can’t miss it.
Depths of the Capital¶
Follow the path to the left in the Capital area, and eventually, you’ll take a long lift down to the bottom. Keep to the left down here and you’ll eventually happen upon this Shrine.
You must choose The wheel turns anew to reach the Shrine Dwelling Shrine.
Shrine Dwelling¶
This is both an extremely important, and easy to miss, Shrine. Two of the game’s endings require you to find this Shrine and interact with it in different ways. It’s actually simple to find, however, as if you look above the previous Shrine, you’ll find the final Riddle Door and you must answer with the wrong answer, “The wheel turns anew” to get teleported to this area with the Shrine.
The Forbidden Lands¶
Another Shrine that is difficult to miss, you’ll find it on the main path, just before entering the final boss fight.
Gate of Truth¶
Once you defeat the final boss, this will appear in the arena.
There you have it; you now know where to find all of the Shrines in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, unlocking them all on a single playthrough will unlock the Radiant Faith Achievement/Trophy, congratulations!
