Lustrous Red Feathers are one of the key items for upgrading your weapon to rank 10. This is an important feat for capping your weapon, getting the maximum scalings out of them, alongside grabbing a trophy if you’re a collector. However, Lustrous Red Feathers are incredibly hard to come by. So, this guide aims to make it easier to find Lustrous Red Feathers in Wuchang Fallen Feather.
Lustrous Red Feather Locations¶
With the level of prestige needed to upgrade to rank 10 weapons, you’ll typically only find these at the end of the game. We’ll share the ones you can get guaranteed regardless of playthrough choices.
One guaranteed Lustrous Red Feather comes from the white tree in Chapter 5.

- The Panda sells one towards the end of Chapter 5 - Costs 5 Bamboo shoots.
- In Chapter 5, you will unlock a new area near the
Capital Entrance shrine when you progress the main area.
- This new mini area takes you to the large white tree you see throughout the zone.
- Going to the tree and climbing up the pathway takes you to an item pickup where you can get a Lustrous Red Feather and an Avian Feather too.
It’s also important to mention that you can get some Lustrous Red Feathers from NPC quest lines. However, depending on some of the decisions you make, you may not be able to get these rewards. For example, here’s the Boatman’s reward:
The Boatman Lustrous Feather:
- Select the top option at the riddle door next to the
Depths of the Capital. - It takes you through the door and you can chat to the Boatman and get this reward.
- Note that it locks you out of the Dream Sweet Deceit trophy ending
- If you want that ending, you will need to select the bottom option. This teleports you to a new area called
Shrine Dwelling, which you need as part of the White Robed Elder storyline. - If you help the Noble, you will need to beat a boss at Shrine Dwelling to get that ending. Choosing the worng option can break that ending, so dont make that mistake.

Earliest Lustrous Feather Location¶
If you’re looking to min max, you can get a Feather extremely early on, and become super powered much earlier than anticipated. Be warned that this list contains some elements of story spoiler and is once again spoiler boxed.
The earliest one you can get is via the 
Li Dingo questline (spoiler box enabled)
- Ignore the Li Dingo and Sun Kewang questlines in Chapter 2.
- If you ignore them through the entire Chapter 2, or do Chapter 3 first in Mt Zhenwu, you will get the bad ending for the NPC.
- Failing the questline will result in Li Dingo becoming a maddened NPC, directly below the
Ferry Overlook Shrine. - You can find the Ferry Overlook shrine after you beat the main Chapter 3 boss, go through the pathway, enter the tunnel, and come out the other side.
- Now follow the path to the Ferry dock area, then turn around and travel up the beach under the bride.

If you do the questline, then you will not be able to get the Lustrous Red Feather. However, you will still get the Feathering longsword for completing the quest, regardless of ending. This does not relate to any ending, as it is a side plot. So, it’s just a matter of how you want this side plotline to end.
