One of the new creatures added to Grounded 2 is Cockroaches. These are Tier 2 neutral creatures that have no immunities, but fortunately, they only attack you if you attack them first. Cockroaches play an important part in progression, as you’ll need some of their parts to upgrade your Omni-Axe to Tier 2. Aside from that, their parts have uses in crafting the Roach Armor Set and other various items. Read on to find out where to find Cockroaches in Grounded 2.

The best place to farm Cockroaches is the Fire Pit, but there are plenty of other areas to find them.

Where to Find Cockroaches¶

Below, you’ll find what we consider the best areas to farm Cockroaches.

1. Under the Snackbar deck: In the central west area of the map is the Snackbar, noticeable for its blue roof. In front of it is a small (large to you) deck. Go under the deck and look to the west side of it to find a few Cockroach Nymphs.

2. Toxic Anthill: Under the southern part of the Picnic Table tablecloth, somewhat near a bottle, is the Toxic Anthill. If you progress through this area, you’ll encounter Cockroach Nymphs, Cockroaches, and eventually, the Cockroach Queen.

3. Picnic Table: On top of the Picnic Table, in the northeast corner, you’ll find a magazine near the Picnic Fridge Cooler. Three Cockroach Nymphs like to roam around this corner of the table, especially on the magazine.

4. Fire Pit: Located in the north/northwest of the map is the Fire Pit. This whole area is filled with Cockroaches of all varieties, including the O.R.C. variants. There are too many here to list their locations, but if you check around the central area of the Pit, you’ll find more than enough.

5. Statue: On the east side of the map is the Statue. If you head east from the Picnic Table, you’ll end up going through an area called “Grass Games”. Continue east to find the Statue area, and you’ll come across a large complex. Inside the corridors and buildings, you’ll find plenty of variants of Cockroaches, including the O.R.C. variants.

6. East Entrance: East of the Minotaurs and Myrmidons Handbook, you’ll find some trash near the eastern border. You’ll find multiple Cockroach Nymphs and Cockroaches here.

After defeating a Cockroach, make sure you scan all its parts before using them. That way, you can track them when they’re near. This makes it a lot easier when you want to farm a large amount.

Cockroach Weaknesses¶

The Cockroach doesn’t have any weaknesses; however, it does have a few resistances. Using any of the following on a Cockroach will get resisted, lowering the amount of damage you deal to it.

• Gas Immunity
• Fresh
• Spicy
• Venom

Why Farm Cockroaches in Grounded 2?¶

Like most creatures, they all have something useful to you. For Cockroaches specifically, the main reason to farm them is for the Tier 2 Roach Armor Set and the Tier 2 Omni-Axe Upgrade. If you want to progress through the game, you’ll need to upgrade the Omni-Axe, and to do that, you’ll need two Roach Chunks. Fortunately, you only require the two, which you’ll get by defeating one or two Cockroaches, but the Roach Armor Set will set you back 11 Roach Chunks and 1 Roach Head. Finally, you can craft the Stuffed Cockroach and the useful Gastro Goo with their parts.

That’s pretty much it for Cockroaches. The best places to farm Cockroaches would be the Fire Pit first, and the Statue second; however, these places are more difficult, so if you’re not bothered about farming lots of parts from them, we recommend going into the Toxic Anthill.
