The Ice Cream Cart in Grounded 2 is one of the optional locations players can visit for a lot of Tier 2 and Tier 3 materials. It is an optional location, but comes packed with Golden Milk Molars, and of course an Optical Disk. However, the big prize is a unique weapon, the Ice Sickle. So, this guide will help you get into the Ice Cream Cart and highlight the main points of interest you’ll want to grab inside the Cart.

Ice Cream Cart Walkthrough¶

To get into the Ice Cream Cart, players will need Chill resistance gear. You will typically use one of the following:

• Fuzzy Armor Set
• Blazin’ Brew
• Torches
• Glow Flares
• Spicy Weapons

For the most part, the Fuzzy Armor set is the best armor set for mitigating the chill status effect from the area. You will typically need to farm some bees around the Picnic table, Statue, or other elevated and flat areas

Glow torches and flares also help with lighting an area up, while giving off some heat to protect you. You should carry a torch on you at all times. And when you need to enter combat, which you will a lot due to Northern Scorpions and their minions, use the flares to create light and warm patches.

In addition, crafting Blazin’ Brews from the Smoothie maker will reduce the chill effect and increase your resistance to it for a brief period. If you can’t make them, you can consume Spicy Shards to get similar effects.

As for Spicy Weapons, there’s a unique interaction, especially with the Spicy Coaltana. If you kill an enemy with the Spicy Coaltana, and you’re next to the enemy, the enemy seems to give off heat. This lowers your Chill meter a fair amount. Don’t underestimate how helpful that can be.

Ice Cream Cart Disk¶

One of the big ticket items is the Disk, inside the Ice Cream Cart.

Players can find the Ice Cream Cart Disk by a dead human body to the southeast corner inside the Ice Cream Cart.

1. Look for a vanilla ice cream spillage to the south.
2. You should find two ice cream cones, one vertical, another horizontal.
3. Climb the horizontal cone to reach the ledge above.
4. You should see a strawberry ice cream spillage. Head towards that.
5. Here, you’ll find the Ice Cream Cart Disk between the legs of a dead human staff member. There’s also a Frostbitten Key here too, which leads to another reward we’ll discuss later.

When you return the Disk, you will get:

• 1000 Raw Science
• Unlock the purchasable Science Shop recipes:
  • Cookbook: Ice Cream Cart for 2500 Raw Science - containing recipes for the
    • Scorpion Skewers, which requires 3X Scorpion Chunks, 3x Pine Needles and one Apple bit.
    • Mac n Bees: Requires 2 Bee Fuzz, 2 Acorn Bits, 1 Pollen
  • Fresh Storage for 3000 Raw Science - Allows you to build Fresh Storage, which slows the spoilage of food. Requires 6x Pine Needles, 5x Mint Shards, 5x Blue Butterfly Parts

Other key items¶

Around the Ice Cream Cart are other key rewards like the Ice Sickle. We have a more dedicated guide to getting the item. But in summary:

1. Climb to the top compartment of the Ice Cream Cart
2. Smash the icicles of the metal gears
3. It opens a latch below it to another room.
4. Inside is a Milk Molar
5. The tunnel leads to a new room with the Ice Sickle, which requires you to defeat waves of Northern Scorpion type enemies.
6. Winning gives you the Ice Sickle Weapon.
7. There’s also a chest in the corner of the room to dig up with a Tier 2 Omnishovel. It gives you two Mint Globs to craft the Ice Sickle along with Northern Scorpion Pincers and chunks if you need to make another.

On top of that, there are a few other goodies.

• This is one of the best places in the game to find Mint Shards, as they are scattered through the many different tunnels in the Ice Cream Cart.
• There’s another Golden Milk Molar on top of the Ice Cream Cart on the wheel.
• Most dense location of Northern Scorpions, in case you want to farm them for Northern Scorpion Stingers gear for Rogue builds, for example, or the Fresh staff.
