Northern Scorpions are one of the major threats in the Tier 2 part of Grounded 2. The game wants you to kill these enemies for a variety of quests and parts for crafting. One of the specific parts you want is the 
Northern Scorpion Stinger, which is very useful for some strong body armors and for mage builds. Here’s everything you need to know about Grounded 2’s Northern Scorpion Stinger item.
Northern Scorpion Stinger Locations¶

To get Northern Scorpion Stingers, you will need to defeat Northern Scorpions. These are specifically the adult version, and not the Jr enemy mobs. You can find these in the following locations based on the Scanner and some of our own findings:
- Northwest of the
Headless BURG.L POI.2025-08-01 16:26:27 Friday - Southeast of the Headless BURG.L in the chasm. Requires the Ant to chomp through the dead root.
- Near the lamp post at the southern area of the Ice Cream Cart
- Some spawn inside the Ice Cream Cart, especially during the Ice Sickle weapon quest.
- On the northwestern side of the big tree in the Entrance area, near the southwest of the Snackbar.
- To the west of the Press Badge in the southwest corner of the Ceremony
- Between the Amplifier and the rock in the center of Cemetery
- To the near east side of the Podium in the Ceremony area.
- To the west of the wet area in the southwest corner of the Picnic area.
- Near the paper plate area at the northern end of the Picnic region.
- Two named bosses guard the entrance to the shrubbery that leads to the Statue Networking quest.
When you find these enemies, even alongside the Jr or Scorpionling, you should ideally fight them with Smashing damage. That is the only weakness they have. In terms of Weak Points, the Rump (the rear) and the Stinger are the weak points. Aim your Smashing weapon at those locations for the most effective damage. Other than that, they resist Fresh, Slashing and Venom attacks. So avoid those weapon types preferably for effective farming.
Crafting with Northern Scorpion Stingers¶

The main two items you can craft with the Northern Scorpion Stingers is the:

Both of these items are very interesting. The Glacial staff is a unique weapon with the Fresh damage and Chilling effect that can counter quite a few enemies you encounter. It’s great for target farming with a Mage build against foes like the 
Stinkbugs, 
Mosquitos, 
Bombardier Beetles, and even the Praying Mantis Nymph enemy. So, this item is very good, especially when progressing for boss kills towards the end of the game.
Meanwhile, the Northern Spaulders are incredibly good for Archer and Rogue builds. The armor effect you get from it increases your damage to enemies affected by Venom. This set bonus is on every Northern armor piece. Comboing this with the 
Venom Arrows or the 
Wolfsbane Fangs means a lot of your attack will do much more damage. It makes for a great midpoint before building the 
Wolf Spider armor set bonuses when you hit Tier 3, making it an incredibly strong armor set for progressing into the next tier with.
