Halssius Conflux Ruins Location¶
To find the Halssius Conflux Ruins you’ll want to head a good ways east, southeast from Hernand city - the ruins are along the northern bank of the Nas River, southeast of St. Halssius’s House of Healing. You’ll know you’ve reached the ruins when you see a dial with three concentric rings, surrounded by statues.
Use Nature’s Force to remove some columns from the dial,
and as you walk on the dial it’ll start to spin and symbols will appear on the outer ring!
Halssius Conflux Ruins Puzzle Solution¶
Before you can start solving this puzzle, you’ll need to tidy up a bit… which we might as well consider part of the puzzle. Head to the dial and you’ll notice some columns have collapsed on it. Use “Nature’s Grasp” to move this rubble off the dial, and once enough of it has been cleared the dial should start to spin while you walk on it and some symbols will appear on the outermost ring of the dial. Curious.
Even more interesting, a beam of light will shoot from the statue in the middle of the dial to one of the many statues surrounding the dial. Go take a gander at this statue and note that it - like all the other statues - has some item in its possession. Some have a bust in an oval frame, others have a pitcher, a lyre, scales, a wheel, a shield, flower, an axe, a bell, keys… and some are just horses. In any event, the important part of each statue will glow gold, and the item represented by each statue corresponds to a symbol on the dial.
(1 of 3) Note a beam of light striking a statue - look at the statue and note the golden part of it…
Now note that there’s a dark metal brace spanning the dial, which has cutouts in it sufficient to frame symbols on each row of the dial. For now you only need to worry about the outermost ring - the one with symbols on it. Stab the pillar near the brace with your sword ( +
) and you’ll be able to rotate the brace to encompass symbols of your choice. This is a tedious process, but… well, that’s the substance of this puzzle - you need to rotate the brace to frame the symbol represented by the statue being struck by the ray of light.
Our beam was striking a statue holding the bust, so we rotated the brace so the outermost cutout was framing the bust symbol on the outer dial and once we withdrew our sword the symbol glowed and the dial rotated. Onward to the second part of the puzzle!
After solving the first puzzle, three statues will be hit by beams of light - note their golden objects,
then look for their symbols on the dial - the brace has to be able to encompass all three at once, two in the middle ring and one on the outer right.
Second Puzzle Solution¶
After solving the first part of the puzzle, the dials will spin, new symbols will appear on the middle ring and now THREE beams of light will emit from the statue in the middle of the dial. Go look at each statue struck, note the golden items that represent them, then head back to the brace.
This time you have to rotate it until the frames encompass all three symbols - one on the outer ring and two on the middle ring. Just walk around the middle ring and look for two adjacent symbols you need, then make sure the third symbol is on the outer ring near them, then move the brace to encompass all three. For us, the symbols indicated by the beam were scales, a lyre and a pitcher, and the lyre and pitcher were next to each other in the middle ring, while the scales were on the outer ring.
Once all three are encompassed by the frame simultaneously, withdraw your sword, the symbols will glow, the rings will spin, and we’ll be moving onto the third part of the puzzle!
The third part of the puzzle works the same way, save you now have to frame six symbols with the brace.
Once solve, you can loot the Abyss Cresset to obtain an Abyss Artifact!
Third Puzzle Solution¶
The third puzzle is the same as the last two, save that it uses all three rings of the dial this time, and now there are beams of light pointing to SIX statues. Again, solve outward, as three adjacent symbols match the statues lit by the beams of light are very likely to be where you need to move the brace, after which you can confirm that the middle and outer rings have the remaining three symbols.
Again, for reference, our statues were lyre, horse, horse, bust, pitcher and scales. We found a pitcher, scales and lyre on the inner row of the dial and sure enough, bust and horse were on the middle ring and there was a horse on the outer ring. A bit of stabbing and shuffling later and our symbols were golden.
Once you solve the third puzzle, a compartment under the statue in the middle of the dial will open, allowing you to plunder the Abyss Cresset within for an Abyss Nexus!
