Spire of Insight Puzzle Guide
This page will provide a walkthrough for the “Arboria Forest Ruins” Abyss Cresset Puzzle in Crimson Desert, including its location on the map and pictures showing you how to solve the pillar raising puzzle
Page Breakdown¶
You’ll find the Arboria Forest Ruins Abyss Cresset northeast of the Hook Rapids, east of Boomveld Bombworks and southwest of Arboria Castle.
Arboria Forest Ruins Location¶
The Arboria Forest Ruins Abyss Cresset can be found northeast of Hernand city, nestled roughly in between the “Hook Rapids” text and the “Hills of No Return” text on the map. You’ll find it east and somewhat south of the Boomveld Bombworks location and southwest of Arboria Castle - just be wary of damaging mushrooms that pollute the forest (both ambulatory and static!) and you shouldn’t find it too dangerous to reach your destination.

Arboria Forest Ruins Puzzle Solution¶
The most arresting part of these ruins is the still-functional waterfountain. The waterwheel it feeds into doesn’t turn anymore (and the pit around the pipe that deposits water onto the waterwheel forms a hazard we can’t help but fall afoul of, for some reason), but that’s all well and good - the fountain itself is the only thing the matters for this puzzle.
Surrounding the fountain are three stone decanters, each of which has two streams of water that feed into the fountain basic proper… or at least, they should be. Presently only one of the three decanters has both of its streams filling the fountain. Check the base of each decanter and sure enough you’ll find some slots, and if that’s not enough of a clue, you’ll see a ghostly figure stabbing an object if you stand around long enough.
Monkey see, monkey do. Find one of the decanters uselessly spilling its water outside of the fountain and stab it with +
, after which you’ll find you can rotate the decanter. Use your sword as a lever to rotate the base of the decanter so that both streams of water are filling the fountain - you’ll probably need to stab each base twice, as you won’t have enough room to fully rotate the decanter from the slot you initially stab - and the water level in the fountain will raise. Once all three decanters are back to properly filling the fountain, the stone lotus in the middle of the fountain will open up and the Abyss Cresset will glow back to life. Loot it to obtain an Abyss Artifact. See, not all of these puzzles have to be difficult!
