Lymbic Forge Walkthrough
Arcas Spire Puzzle
The Ecstasy questline in Hell is Us is one of the Act 2 major leads that players can progress through at their choice. When you progress toward the final part of the lead, the quest takes you to the Plains of Mists, an area which hides the Temple of the Fallen. This area is filled with twists, turns, and many puzzles that take a while to figure out. So, this walkthrough should help you solve these puzzles and progress through the act.
Temple of the Fallen Puzzles Walkthrough¶
The first area of the map starts with the front door to the temple. This requires the Twin Head Serpent to open, which you get from the Vyssa Hills/National Library storylines. When you open that door, there’s a puzzle straight away behind it. The tip for clearing through that is based on the towers from furthest to closest, from the center of the puzzle outward. The tower symbols match up with the puzzle pieces.

The order is as follows from the center going downwards:
- Sword
- V symbol
- 8 Pointed Star
- Eye
This should open the door and let you into the Temple of the Fallen.
Tip: There’s a key you can get near the Sword icon that starts a mystery that’s easy to complete. The chest for that key is near the 8 Wheel icon to the right of the puzzle door, by the building with the hole in the roof.
Now you’re inside, follow the stairs down into the timeloop. From here, you should find a pathway on the left that takes you into the trials area. When you enter the trials, there are two. One leads to Tearr Temple, and the other is the Mycelium. The Mycelium leads to some loot exploration items and Timeloop guardians, while the left path also gives you items like Lymbic Rods for the area’s mystery chest, but it also leads to the next puzzle.
Pressure Plate Puzzle¶
When you cross over the broken bridge via the cave, you will stumble into a large temple area. The area has a few signs to read that tell you a tale of who Tearr is. There’s a few lore dump ones with no ice, and three with icons. The icons match which plates to strand on, with the message translating to the correct answer.

The solution to the puzzle is as follows:
- Go to the Tree icon. Stand on the left option: Tearr
- Go to the Moon icon. Stand on the left option: Dead
- Go to the 8 point star icon. Stand on the right option: Abandonment
When you progress through, you will find six sets of pressure plates. You need to stand on them for several seconds to activate the plate. If you activate an incorrect plate, you fall to your death and reload at the save point. So it’s a hefty run if you fail.
In case you’re wondering, the solution is based on some of the lore you find in the temple and their belief system. They worship the twin-headed Serpent, which explains Tearr. The story details that the false god died, hence the death option. The 8 pointed star is referenced in the room as an icon. And they believe that Sethyris abandons people. Hence the Abandonment option.
Second Pressure Plate Puzzle¶

After exploring the next area that opens up, you’ll eventually enter an area with more pressure plates. To solve this, you need to get the clues from the monoliths scattered around the area. The Monoliths have icons on them and they are in orders of testament, representing the row the icon should be on. The hints give you clues about the icons on the pressure plates to stand on. The order to press them is as follows:
- Hourglass
- Sword and the Eye
- Human with the sword in their back
- Twin Headed Serpent
Again, the clues are about the tale of Tearr. You have the time till his awakening, the star that’s represented constantly through the storyline so far. Meanwhile, the sacrifice and backstab is a common motif you find in the temple, including dead medieval monks around the Temple ruin itself. The Twin Headed Serpent represents Tearr, like the snake puzzle you find in Vyssa Hills, where one of the tribes originally migrated from.
Once you’re through this puzzle, you’ll eventually come to an area with a horde of enemies guarding the final door. Simple AOE attacks make this easy, the Shriek of terror here is very good for carving a line through them. After defeating them, you will find the Key of Ecstasy and fight a boss battle. Doing so completes the quest chain, and gives you a key to slot into the Lymbic Forge. You may now open the door, or progress through the other investigations of the other missing keys. Congratulations on solving all of the Temple of the Fallen puzzles in Plains of Mist!
