After leaving the tutorial in Senedra Forest, you will be sent to the Acasa Marshes, thanks to the farmer telling you he knows where Jova is. Upon arrival, you’re greeted to a hell scape of a zone, with the boggy marshes occupied by hostile entities. You’ll need to somehow find the Blacksmith of Jova and fulfill your leads in the Family Reunion investigation you start with. However, there’s more to it than you think. Here’s everything you need to know about the Blacksmith of Jova part of the Family Reunion quest in Hell Is Us.
Finding the Blacksmith of Jova¶
As soon as you start the game, you’re sort of given the knowledge that your mother has a connection to a blacksmith in Jova. Once you learn the location of Jova you can head there in the APC.
When you arrive, you need to take the road down, and turn right. Go towards the mass grave, and then emerge into the Marsh area. Now, you have two choices. You can go to the Jova village sort of on the left side of the map, which you can see via the road markings. This can give you entry into the Village of Jova, and you can find the smithy. But both will be locked.

- Instead, what you want to do is travel to the very north east of the map.
- From Jova, take the northern exit out, and then follow the bridges over the marsh area.
- Continue onward towards the Sabinian Family Tree.
- Towards the Northeast, you should see a road leading into a mountain. Follow that.
- It will take you to a tunnel with red lighting on it. You should find awesome loot pickups that give you the neutral spear and a drone module.
- Head into the tunnel and defeat the horde of Hollow Walkers and the larger enemy by the door further down.
- Open the door, and you should find an ON worker, and a man called Victor to talk to. Speak to Victor and he will reveal he is the Blacksmith’s apprentice, and give you the key to Vitalis’ home, the name of the Blacksmith you’re looking for.
Now, with the key to Vitalis’ house, you can enter the house next to the smithy and proceed with the quest. Also, you’ll need to solve Vitalis’ basement puzzle to progress. Hint: Its something to do with the box cart numbers.
Also, after exiting the basement, Victor should open the smithy up,and you can unlock and equip glyphs and weapon upgrades, among other stuff. Take the Vigil note from the basment room to Viktor to unlock the next area to visit, Vyssa Hills.

You should not be able to visit Vyssa Hills from the APC. While there, you need to find a statue of a Sabinian Knight. From there, you’ll get a lead about the convoy on the road to find the Blacksmith of Jova.
