Hell is Us is heavy exploration game, with many mysteries, optional side quests and plenty of achievements. Depending on what you’re doing, the game has different lengths to complete. So, the game length for Hell is Us is entirely dependent on what you’re interested in.

How long is Hell is Us?¶
For the most part, we reckon a normal playthrough takes around 25-35 hours. For context, our review playthrough, whee we took or own notes in a Google Sheet took about 33 hours to reach Act 3. Act 3 is very short from there.
In addition, our playthrough also featured completing a lot of the failable good deeds before that happened. This added some extra playtime as we finished many of the side objectives.
With a single playthrough where you 100% the game with no failable good deeds or mysteries, we reckon a 40 hour playthrough is fairly normal. If you manage to fail some of the early good deeds, a second playthrough will be in order. You’ll have more game knowledge by then an be able to zoom through things a bit better. So you can maybe add another ten hours to get the missable content from the previous save.
If you’re main lining the main story, then you can probably finish it between 10-20 hours for a first time playthrough while you figure things out, mess around getting OP glyphs and build items from select few missions deed and other location rewards, farming gear upgrades and all that jazz.
Outside of that the game length variables depend on your ability to solve some of the puzzles. Some of the puzzles are tough. The main storyline ones are not as hard, but the side quests ones are certainly long winded, and can make you try to remember things from several levels or hours ago. It’s very easy to get disjointed and retrace items and events, depending on the order you did different Act 2 missions in.
