Precious Cargo is one of those quests that lets players run more errands for the Town Hall folk. However there’s a pretty interesting choice you’re presented with in this story, that does affect what happens at the end. But, getting to that stage can be tricky, especially with a few quest objectives a bit hard to break down. Here’s how to complete the Precious Cargo and the choices at the end.

Here’s a walkthrough for the Precious Cargo mission in Dying Light The Beast. Image via Gamer Guides / Techland.

Precious Cargo Walkthrough

Okay when you start the quest, you need to move towards the Industrial zone, and find the container. If you look where the metal bar is dangling from a crane over the water, that’s where the container is. Simply jump in and then use your Survivor Senses to and move over to the investigate symbol to trigger the next part of the quest.

Once you have the container, you need to go to the crane along the south side of the water with the magnet attached to it. You then need to move it along the dock to get it into position to pick the crane up. Interact with the crane cabin and then move it along with the interact buttons.
But, you won’t be able to pick the ammo container up straight away. You instead need to power up the crane to get its full strength back. To do this, go north and into the warehouse. You’ll find a metal cabinet with a busted fuse. Now you need to enter the warehouse proper after a chat with the Town Hall.

The Warehouse

Enter the warehouse and solve the double power cable task to power the crane in the distance. Image via Gamer Guides / Techland.

To access the warehouse, go far west of the building and look for a catwalk to enter the Warehouse Dark Zone. Loot the place if you want to, but you’re mainly here for the quest. Proceed through the Warehouse, down the stairs and then you’re looking for a room on the bottom floor you can lock pick and drop down into the basement. This will take you through an underground section, allowing you to crawl through some vents and make your way to the east side of the warehouse underground, which is exclusive to the mission.

When you’re there, you’re looking for a power cable from the basement, that takes you through the rubble to the main warehouse floor. Some music should start playing, and it will distract the zombies. Take the cable over the warehouse shelves and climb the ladder to attach it to the next power cable box. Press the buttons, and now take the next cable, open the door on the left, and parkour along over the river, and take the cable to the crane you moved over. It should now power the crane, and let you lift the ammo container out of the water.

Precious Cargo Choices & Rewards

Here’s the difference between all the choices and rewards to Precious Cargo. Image via Gamer Guides / Techland.

With the cargo retrieved, you get a little visit from another group of survivors that also want a piece of the ammo. Turns out these bandits, or other survivors were the ones that lent the assist to luring the biters away in the warehouse.

Now, the ring leader presents an offer:

  1. they get a cut of the deal and you get a cut.
  2. Or you refuse the deal.

Both have slightly different outcomes.

On the other hand, if you refuse the deal, you get a bit more of the quest.

By refusing the deal, you get locked in the container, and then dropped. You’ll wake up outside, and then have to track the car tire marks back to their hideout in the sawmill to the northwest of the industrial site just off the beaten track.

When you get there, you’ll need to kill a few of the guards and then loot the place. You’ll then find the ammo and Keller’s assistant will come and get the ammo.

Now you need to return to Keller and speak to him in his quartermaster room. You should wait a few minutes. If this bugs out, then just go back to the Sawmill as it seems to trigger the quest rewards. Upon returning to the town hall, you get 4x pistol bullets in your town hall bedroom.

Regardless of what option you choose, you will get two field manual pages and 8,000 XP for your troubles. Don’t forget to loot the Ice weapon mod from the container too, among other rewards.

There is not much difference bar some dialogue options in the choice of the quest and a few extra bullets or medkits for your troubles. So, go with whatever option you want.

If you do take the no deal option, going to the Saw Mill helps you track down some collectibles, like the newspaper. If you have the races unlocked, you’ll also find two races following the car, which is handy if you’re going for 100% completion for achievements.
