Convoys are a new feature in Dying Light The Beast, which is essentially an upgraded take on the armored cars and ambulances you saw from the first two games. Convoys instead are all about military trucks that contain a variety of blueprints, ammunition, high tier valuables, sometimes weapons and crafting mats. Yet to access them, you need a Convoy Access Card. Here’s what to do.
How to loot Convoys¶

To open convoys, you need to look for the military biters that wander around the locations. Killing these creatures will drop Convoy Access Cards. When you get a card, you can use them on a the back of a convoy truck.
Now, there’s a few important things to note. Do not run too far away from the military biters you kill, as they can despawn. This is more of a problem for larger convoys where the cars are spread out. Make sure to loot first to avoid that happening.
The other important thing to note is that there’s sometimes optional containers to the side of the convoy vehicles. You can lock pick these compartments, and get extra ammo loot from them. It is a bit random with what it gives you, but it only gives you ammo for weapons you’re close to unlocking with your level or main story progression.
The other tip I can offer you is that larger convoys tend to have other big vehicles nearby. Think police cars and ambulances. You can lockpick these trunks, typically at medium difficulty. You can get valuables from them, alongside ammo and some other goodies. The ambulances tend to give you thematic crafting materials or even medical consumables to use too.
Also, another tip for repeat farming - Logging out and back in to reset the “recently looted” status of convoys. Rest at a nearby safe spot and zone and you can easily repeat farm these for ammo.
So, if you’re on the hunt for stockpiling ammunition, then you’ll want to loot as many of these as possible. We have a Dying Light The Beast interactive map if you’re curious which should help you find convoy locations if you’re still exploring the map.
