Hydro Puzzle Walkthrough¶
Head through to the fenced off area to get the Water Pressure reading. Image via Gamer Guides / Techland.
To start the quest, you need to visit the Pumping Station and check for the water pressure. You can break in by going into the window and then parkouring through the building to reach behind the metal fence. You can then check the water pressure readings.
From there, you then need to return to Old Town, and check on the sewer station to get more clues to what’s going on. Feel free to loot the rest of the building and get some more notes for the quest investigation pieces and other rewards. There’s a smartphone in there too for example for some legendary money.
Now, when you get into the Sewer building, you need to check the Water Works Repair facility. This is an office in the Old Town. The compound is surrounded by a Demolisher and several virals. To get in, you need to enter via the vents on the rooftop and then shimmy through till you can go down and enter. You can skip the baddie if you’d like.
Sewer Safe Puzzle - Waterwork Repair Facility¶

When inside, your main task is to open the sewer safe in the Waterworks building. The code is inside the locked room further down the hallway. However, to make things easier, the Sewer safe code is 27-1-15. Opening the safe will award you the Chief Engineer Key, which will now allow you access to the Sewers.
Proceed to clear the rest of the building out and escape, killing any remaining biters and enemies inside. You can escape via the garage door on the ground level.
When you’re out, you now need to visit the Sewer Maintenance Point in Old Town. It is a small building with a locked door. There are a few infected guarding it. Dispatch them, open the door, and then you get a mini cutscene telling you to enter the sewers.
Sewers¶

As you escape, lure the zombies into the electric for some easy kills before turning the power off. Image via Gamer Guides / Techland.
Essentially here, you want to follow the clanging sounds. Follow the pathway down, and be mindful of all the resting zombies. They will wake up as you progress through the area.
You’ll eventually come into a larger square room, which you can parkour up to a new ledge. This will take you to another larger room with a door. You will need to defend this area from biters and viral attacks coming in. When it’s done, you can go to the door and speak to the people inside. You can then get the water restored.
The final bit is to now head up the stairs, and deal with the power issues. There’s a vent you can climb through to turn the power off. But, there are biters around. Feel free to throw a Firecracker into the electrified water, and the biters should enter it and die. When they are dead, go through the vent, and disable the power. Now head upstairs, and you should be able to open the door and escape, completing the quest. This will be a UV hotspot for you at night too, so it’s a secret reward for completing the quest if you need to escape Volatile chases.
