Insanity Mode Guide: Unlock, tips and other suggestions for beating it
How to Get Infinite Ammo
Resident Evil Requiem brings back the inventory system of old, giving players little room to carry much-needed items in the horror and tense-filled world Grace finds herself in. As you explore, you will need to make decisions on how to best manage your inventory, juggle storing items, and when to use things.
However, Resident Evil Requiem’s inventory system is manageable, thanks to a few key Hip Pouches you can get that increase your inventory size. These are pretty important, as carrying an extra two inventory slots is rather important for Grace, making key exploration items, meds, ammo, and other crafting pieces easier to acquire. Here’s how to increase your inventory space in Resident Evil: Requiem and get more Hip Pouches.

How to Increase Inventory Space with Hip Pouches¶
To increase inventory space in Resident Evil Requiem, you need to get Hip Pouches. Thankfully, there are a good few available, which are as follows:
- Parlor Room - Spend 3 Antique Coins to purchase a 2-Slot Hip Pouch
- West Wing Filing Room - Unlock the Level 1 access room on the West Wing using the Level 1 Access Card (found in the Filing Room near the Dining Hall)
- Basement - Processing Office - Inside the Processing Office room when you reach the Care Home Basement level from the Collection Pod route.
- ARK - Bio 5 - Located inside one of the containers inside the room.
In total, that gives players six more inventory spaces spread across various points in the game.
Early game Hip Pouches¶
This is an absolute must buy as you get extremely limited bag space early on. Image via Gamer Guides / Capcom.
The first two you can get relatively early, meaning you can think tactically about the game. Simply get the first quartz from the Chairman’s Office and unlock the Parlor Room near the Kitchen, and you should get four coins almost immediately by simply unlocking that room, plus another two Antique coins from progressing through the West Wing as normal.
You then get the East Wing Keycard from the Coin Room where the Hip Pouch you can buy is. From there, take the card to the East Wing and unlock it, then head straight across to the East Wing Reception and up the stairs. You will first need to walk around the longer hall ways, but it doesn’t take too long. Just deal with a few zombies here and there and you can unlock the door for the shortcut. The Level 1 Keycard is on a body up the stairs. Deal with the things related to the events up there, and then you can take the keycard back to the Filing Room in the West Wing and open it up for a rather quick four additional inventory slots.
The Basement Hip Pouch¶
The Basement level Hip Pouch comes as you complete the main section of the Quartz mission, so this comes much later. But if you’re getting collectibles and items for crafting, then getting the bag space is extremely important. You’ll otherwise lose items or have to make run-backs fairly often. You don’t want to be making run-backs that often due to some zombies waking back up, plus other features and reasons that come much later.
ARK¶
Ark is one of the final missions in the game. To avoid spoilers, we’ll keep details to a minimum. Basically, there’s a bunch of storage rooms in a room we will call Bio 5. Opening some containers have rewards within, especially closer to the point you enter the room. That’s the last pouch that gives you another two item slots as Grace.
Leon¶
Leon can also get an inventory space upgrade. You can purchase it from a supply box using the credits you get as part of Leon’s mini-game. Buy it early as its relatively cheap, given how many zombies you fight on that level.
Getting the extra bag space is very good and efficient, especially if you’re going for the sub-four-hour game completion trophy.
