Your second mission will involve you with multiple tasks, and is dubbed Operation "Snake" iconSnake Eater. After being sent back to the ground, you’ll return in Dremuchij East. However, a chance encounter leaves you with no gun, so you’ll need to make your way through a few areas disarmed. Visiting the area to the north is needed, which will eventually take you to Dolinovodno and Rassvet again.

Dolinovodno

The one guard that was near the bridge in Virtuous Mission is still here, and the hornet’s nest is still above him. However, without a gun, you won’t be able to drop it to make the guard run, so you’ll have to do something similar to the guard on the previous screen. Wait for him to walk away, then drop down and hide in the grass. You can just lay prone here until he comes back and turns around completely, where you can sneak up on him and CQC throw the guard to the ground, knocking him out. Depending on the difficulty, there might be another guard to the north of the bridge, so do the same thing as before to make him sleep.

(1 of 4) There is one guard at the bridge in Dolinovodno.

When the coast is clear, you are free to explore the area for goodies, although the only ones you can get right now are in that little alcove down the hill near the northern exit. Go down that path, hug the wall, and slowly make your way there, where you’ll find some LF MED, Smoke "Grenade" iconGrenades and the "Raindrop" iconRaindrop Uniform. Return to the higher elevation and go north to reach Rassvet.

Rassvet

Thankfully, there are no enemies here, so you’re free to explore the area to collect everything. Go straight and enter the facility, heading up the stairs first to find an "AK-47" iconAK-47. You might be tempted to go back and do some exploring, which you can if you don’t care about killing people, but let’s continue here. Go in between the buildings and all the way north to find some Smoke Grenades behind some crates. If you didn’t get the Rat earlier, you can crawl underneath the eastern building via a hole near the grass on that side; there’s also some Reticulated Pythons under here.

Head into the building where Sokolov was previously held, ignoring his room for now, and climb the crates right in front of you for Cardboard Box A. Right outside of Sokolov’s room is a Mine Detector in the corner. Exit the facility and go around the eastern side, where you’ll find some Bug Juice by a tree, then the "Zombie" iconZombie Face Paint at the very end. Alright, you’re done with the items for now, so go and enter Sokolov’s room.

(1 of 5) Up the stairs in Rassvet will be an AK-47 in the one corner.

As soon as you do, turn to the left and press the action button in front of the locker in the corner to open it; inside will be some Thermal Goggles. It appears that there’s nothing else in the room, so exit it to start some cutscenes. You’ll learn that whenever you save from now on, Snake will get some rest, which will help restore Stamina and maybe even cure him of some things, depending on how long you rest.

Ocelot Unit Fight

Once the rest of the scenes play out, daytime will arrive and you’ll find yourself surrounded. The first thing you should do, depending on how you’re playing, is go into your inventory and equip the "Mk22" iconMk22. The second thing you should do is hide underneath the bed and face the door. Ocelot’s troops will come barging in and toss a Stun Grenade. Depending on how well you are hiding, though, they won’t find anything and eventually file out. Wait until they’re completely gone before coming out, then use the hatch that EVA used in the scene to go underneath the building.

(1 of 3) The Tree Bark camo works well in this situation, along with the Splitter face paint.

Depending on the difficulty, there can be up to 10 guards, but there will always be at least 7 of them. While under the building, you can pick off a number of them through the holes/grates. You’ll have to be very careful, though, as the guards will sometimes peek into the holes, so if you see their legs, shoot first before they kneel down to look. When it gets down to the last few, you can probably use the hatch again and hide under the bed. Depending on how they move, you should be able to get every single guard, except for one.

That last one will be on the roof of the building where Sokolov was, and will be using a sniper rifle. The guy scours from the corners of the roof, so you’ll need to be careful when exiting the building, as if you get seen by him, then you’ll have to start over (if you’re going for no alerts). Go back underneath the building and crawl out the hole by the grass. You should be right next to the opening that you can use to climb into that same facility, but stay on the outside.

Look in the direction of the rooftop and peek around the corner until you see the guard head to that side. You should be safe from being seen here and get a good shot on him. Once you down him, and he should be the final one, you can head to the northeastern corner to trigger a scene. After it’s over, you are done with this area, so pick up anything you didn’t before. With weapons now in your possession again, you can look underneath the stairs to find Kerotan 7.

(1 of 5) If you’re going for no kills, don’t forget to re-equip the Mk22.

In the northeastern corner is a ladder that allows you to get on the roof of the building, where the one Ocelot guy was stationed. Go up there and you’ll see GA-KO 7 sitting on one of the beams. If you got the Mousetrap from your first time in Rassvet, during Virtuous Mission, and laid it on the ground, make sure you pick it up before you leave (the map will show its location). There are still plenty of things to gather in the Dremuchij areas to the south, so let’s take a detour before continuing the story.
