How Camouflage Works

Upon first starting a new game in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, you will be presented with a list of questions. These go from playing MGS for the first time, all the way up to liking everything in the MGS series. While it doesn’t really matter all too much, picking one will net you some extra stuff. These are usually extra Uniforms or Face Paints, some of which have extra properties to them that can make your start a lot easier.
You can get some nice stuff from the starting question on a new game.
List of All Questions¶
The following is a table that lists all of the questions offered to you at the beginning of a new game, along with what you’ll receive for picking that option.
| Question | Reward |
|---|---|
| I’m playing the MGS series for the first time! | Mummy Uniform |
| I like MGS 1! | DPM Uniform, AUSCAM Uniform |
| I like MGS 2! | Desert Tiger Uniform |
| I like MGS 3! | Flecktarn Uniform |
| I like MGS 4! | Green/Brown Face Paints |
| I like MGS: Peace Walker! | Banana Uniform |
| I like MGS V! | National Flags Face Paints |
| I like everything in the MGS series! | Grenade Uniform |
So, which one should you start with from the above? Well, that entirely depends on what you want. The Flecktarn Uniform is one of the better options, since it will allow you to use your Sonar and Motion Detector without having the batteries run out. Desert Tiger is also nice for those who wish to stealth through the game, as it gives you unlimited suppressor use. The Grenade Uniform can be extremely useful, since it gives you unlimited grenades while equipped. This extends to all types of grenades, so you could potentially use it with something like Stun Grenades.
Note that after finishing the game once, you will receive everything above on a New Game Plus. So, you are essentially just using something on your first playthrough, if you want. Thus, it’s probably best to either go for Flecktarn or the Grenade Uniform.
