In the northeastern corner of Rassvet is the exit leading to Chyornyj Prud. Upon arriving in this area, you’ll find that it’s a little bigger than previous areas, although not by much. This place is mostly water and has a lot of Gavials, which you want to avoid, as they will instantly kill you in the deeper water. Yep, if they see you, they will chase after you and should they catch you in the water, it’s an instant game over. Thankfully, there are no enemy guards here, so you can take your time to try and collect everything, since there are a few new items/food things to grab.

(1 of 5) There are two new snakes that you can collect at the beginning of this area.

You will enter the area on the southern side of the body of water, so scope out the shore first to spot a new snake. Well, there are actually two new snakes here, with them looking a little similar to one another. These are "Snake" iconSnake D (Coral Snake) and Snake E (Milk Snake). Be mindful of the former one, as it can actually attack and poison you, but the Milk Snake is harmless. Once you’re done getting some new boots with the snakes, enter the water on the western side to find some item pickups ("AK-47" iconAK-47 Ammo, a White Phosphorus "Grenade" iconGrenade, and a Smoke Grenade).

It is also around here that you should find a new frog skimming across the top of the water. This is Frog C (Poison Dart Frog) and should you eat it, you will be poisoned, although you will need to for a trophy/achievement. Now head to the northeastern corner of the area, towards the exit. In the shallow end of the waters here, you should find two more item pick-ups on the ground, a Chaff Grenade and the more important, GA-KO Uniform. This new outfit isn’t particularly good for camouflage, but it does allow you hear the calls of uncollected Kerotan/GA-KO dolls on maps.

Speaking of those, both of the ones in Chyornyj Prud will be close to the northeastern exit. Look around the corner, near the northern tip of the map, to see a big tree. On the branch of that tree will be GA-KO 12, so shoot it. For the other one, you will have to quickly dive under the water to find it at the base of the tree. Do that to see Kerotan 12, so shoot it and return to the surface. There are two more items to the west of the tree (M1911 ammo and a Stun Grenade), but you should also see one more on ledge you cannot reach.

(1 of 5) Look in the northeastern corner to find the GA-KO Uniform.

Don’t worry, we’ll be getting to that in a minute, so ignore it for now and swim over to the western side. Look for the big log that is blocking a path over here and swim underneath it. On the other side, you should see a fish swimming there; this is Fish C (Arowana), so make sure you kill it (and eat it) to add it to the Food Collection. Get to dryer land, collecting a Grenade and "Mk22" iconMk22 ammo, if needed, then make your way to the north. Don’t take the exit yet, but you also want to be careful around there, as there is a pitfall trap that causes a game over if you hit it (use Thermal Goggles to see it).

Instead, you want to find the climbable tree here in this section. Go up it and hang from the line that runs from it, shimmying all the way across until you come to another line that is below you. What you need to do here is aim for the second line, drop off the current line, then mash the interact/action button to grab the second line. If you fall, go back to the tree and try again. Once you make it onto the second line, head all the way across to get to that out-of-reach item on the higher ledge. This item is the Crocodile Cap, a special item you can wear to help fool guards while going through water.

(1 of 5) Climb this tree here and hang from the wire it’s connected to.

That about wraps it up here in Chyornyj Prud, so make your way to either of the exits. Remember the pitfall trap near the northwestern one, and there’s also a trip-wire trap at the northeastern exit. You can either crawl under it, or shoot the trip-wire to trigger the falling spiked log it releases. Either way, take either exit to go to Bolshaya Past South.
