During the missions in Metal Gear Solid Delta: 
Snake Eater, you will have to procure your own food. This comes in the form of fruits, animals and plants. Fish are primarily found in water, which makes sense, because they swim. These can be the easiest creatures to gather, simply because there is one area that has all of them in one spot. There are only three fish to catch in the game.
Fish A - Bigeye Trevally¶

The Bigeye Trevally is one of three fish you can find in the game. The first time you happen upon one is actually the best spot for all of the fish, in Ponizovje South, which will be after exiting the cave following The Pain’s boss battle. This is the smallest of the three fishes, so look for the small one in the water when you go to collect them. You can find more of them in the other Ponizovje areas after this, too.
Ponizovje South is the mother lode for all three types of fish.
They’re pretty close to the surface, too, so they’re easy pickings.
Fish B - Maroon Shark¶

The medium sized fish out of the bunch, the Maroon Shark can actually first be found in the waters of the arena where you fight The Pain. So, if you need any stamina recovery during the fight and are running low on food, you can dive down to capture some. However, if you wait until you exit the cave areas, you can find all of the fish in one spot, in Ponizovje South. You can easily use your knife or gun to get all of the fish here, since the waters are shallow enough.
Fish C - Arowana¶

The Arowana is the first of the three fish you’ll find in the game, with you finding some in the area right after your encounter with the Ocelot squad at Rassvet. This is Chyornyj Prud, which will also be housing a bunch of Indian Gavials. If you can’t get to them with your gun or knife, you can always use a grenade to do some good ol’ fashioned fishing. Of the three fish, the Arowana is the biggest one, so it’s easy to tell which one is which.
You can first find the Arowana in Chyornyj Prud, but it’s deep underwater and cannot be seen with the Thermal Goggles.
The best spot, though, for the fish will be right after you defeat The Pain in a boss battle. The next area right after you exit the cave will be Ponizovje South. The water in this area is shallow enough that you’ll be able to just use your knife or gun on the fish here. All three types of fish are here, so make sure you grab one of each.
