Phantom Friendship Trophy/Achievement Guide
There are a number of trophies and achievements in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, a few of which that aren’t going to be easy, since they are meant for endgame characters. Weaponry Grilled to Perfection is a trophy/achievement that requires you to defeat the Level 99
Training Dummy in Eternia Village. This may sound easy, but it’s actually quite challenging, due to one hidden reason. Continue reading to find out how to unlock this trophy/achievement.
How to Defeat the Level 99 Training Dummy¶
Before you even think about going after this Training Dummy, you’ll want to make sure that you’re prepared first. Your main combat Life should be around level 85 or so, which is definitely a grind. Doing Treasure Groves is a good way to ensure that you get the most experience, especially if you can manage to find a Monster House in the Year 800 or 900 range. Other than that, you’ll want to procure some items to help you when you get ready to tackle the dummy.
You’ll want a very strong weapon, either from one of the ones from the
Mysterious Slates, or the True Time weapon. The skills on it shouldn’t really matter too much, but if you can increase the attack/charged attack, then go for it. You will also want some
Power Aid +/
Berserk Potions, although the former are much easier to come across/make.
Crit Aid is also a good choice, so you can boost your critical hit chance a lot higher to add to your damage. Food that increases your Combat Power/Attack is also great to use here. Lastly, you’ll want some items that restore your SP, since most of the damage you’ll be doing involves using charge attacks.
As for the attack you’re going to use, you want the one with the maximum damage potential. This likely includes the following for each Life:
Hunter: Ultra Piercing Arrow III- Paladin: Sonic Blade III
- Mercenary: Dragon Claw III
- Magician: Mystic Punishment III
With the above attacks, you are aiming to pretty much use those exclusively, although you may use the normal charge attack (Arcane Arts III) to apply the defense down debuff first. Once you feel you are ready, you’ll find the Level 99 Dummy right near the Hunter Life Master. Start off by applying all of your buffs, then start dishing out the listed attack from above. Continue doing this until you see the first 20,000 heal on the dummy. If you’ve done more damage than it healed, then keep going, only stopping to reapply buffs and replenish your SP.
(1 of 4) With all of the buffs, you should hopefully be dealing a lot of damage to the dummy.
Should you not outdamaging the heal, then you’ll need to either level up some more, get a stronger weapon, or do something else. You could always make some armor/accessories that have passive damage buffs before trying again (use Stickers/Appliques to get the desired ones). Once you destroy the dummy, it will leave behind a chest, so open it to get the
Roasted Corn weapon. While the attack power on this weapon is a whopping 800, you cannot do anything to it, like Remaking and you don’t get a recipe. Also, this weapon is only equippable by the Brand New class, the one you started the game with, which doesn’t get any skills. So, unless you plan on using Brand New, this weapon is essentially useless.
