All Shrine Locations

Throughout Ginormosia you will find twenty Shrines scattered about, each of these turd-shaped buildings (no, we’re not joking) containing a challenge which must be overcome. Should you succeed, you will obtain a Strangeling, which can be reverted into its true form: a buddy who can then be added to your party and accompany you on your adventures, contributing to combat, gathering or crafting, depending on their Life! This page will provide the locations of every Shrine in the game, including what challenges await within and what Strangeling you’ll get for overcoming said challenges in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time!

Page Breakdown

A location of all the Shrines found on the Ginormosia map.

Finding Shrines

As mentioned above, you’ll find Shrines - poop-shaped buildings - scattered throughout Ginormosia, with one or two appearing in each region. In each one is a challenge that you can complete to obtain a Strangeling housed within the Shrine, which you can revert into buddies via the goddess statue at Base Camp. Getting more buddies is very beneficial, especially for crafting Lives, as these buddies can be assigned to help you craft items, passively boosting your crafting skill. The first buddy assigned to assist you will pass on half their own crafting skill and the second buddy will add on quarter their crafting skill - if they’re equipped with decent Life Tools and leveled (they’ll gain EXP as you craft with them!) they could end up accounting for a significant share of your overall crafting skill. It’s a huge boon, and combat lives can also assist you in battle while gathering lives will join you when you attempt to fell trees, mine ore deposits, catch fish or farm, which is occasionally helpful when you’re trying to gather high-level boss materials.

All this is to say that getting new buddies can be very beneficial, and in some Lives, transformational, hence clearing Shrines in Ginormosia is rather important. Of course, before you can clear these Shrines, you have to find them, which involves a fair bit of roaming about Ginormosia. Before you do this, however, you should first seek out the Towers in each region, which will dispel the fog of war and make it easier to explore. Check out the map above to get a general idea of where these Shrines can be found!

(1 of 5) In Shrines you’ll find a variety of challenges, including gathering challenges,

Shrine Challenges

Once you find a Shrine, you still have to enter it and complete the challenge within to get the Strangeling inside. These challenges fall into several categories;

  • Combat: Defeat enemies, usually three waves, often ending with a boss monster. You generally have 3:00 to clear each wave, and many Combat challenges have a recommended level of 50+, although the boss monster at the end is usually Lv40.

  • Gathering: You will either have to mine ore deposits or fell trees over three rounds, with different ore deposits or trees each round. Like combat challenges, you will have 3:00 to clear each round. Most gathering challenges have a recommended Life skill of 400 or 650 - gathering companions will make this easier.

  • Mushroom Memory: You will find a ring of multicolored Mushrooms that light up in specific patterns. You then have to repeat the pattern by jumping on the correct Mushrooms in the correct sequence. Basically a Simon Says memorization minigame.

  • Panel Puzzle: You will be teleported to a maze where you have to step on every panel in said maze exactly one time en route to an exit tile. There will sometimes be teleporters that complicate the maze, and most Panel Puzzles have multiple stages.

  • Scarecrows: Scarecrows will spawn in a combat ring and you’ll need to destroy a sufficient number of them within a time limit. You typically need 200 points and will gain 10 points per Scarecrow, a goal that must be reached in 1:00 - so, destroy 20 Scarecrows in under a minute. Avoid bomb decoys, as they reduce your points.
