X Marks the Spot Quest Walkthrough

X Marks the Spot is a task that can be found in the Kuttenberg Region, and can be accessed once you’ve completed the main quest Taking French Leave. It’ll require you to track down some treasure. Read on to find out where you need to go and what you get for completing the quest.

Starting the X Marks the Spot Task¶

Head to Pschitoky which is located to the west of Kuttenberg and speak with Hired Hand Krizhan then agree to purchase his treasure map for 100 Groschen! If you view the map via your inventory then you’ll be pointed in the direction of an camp that is situated to the northeast of Old Kutna.

Dig up the Treasure¶

There are multiple bandits gathered around the campfire which we recommend dealing by passing the time until midnight and sneaking up on them while they’re sleeping and performing a stealth kill. If any of them are still awake then you can throw a stone in the opposite direction to have them face away from you.

Once you’re done dealing with the bandits, enter the mine and take a right at the fork in the path to find the Bandit Leader, then you’ll need to take him which can easily be done by waiting for him to strike first, parrying and counter. Interact with his corpse and steal the Bandit’s Treasure Map and then you’ll want to return to Pschitoky, but before you do we recommend looting the chests and bandits for equipment which you can use to sell to make back your Groschen!

X Marks the Spot Task Rewards¶

You’ll now want to speak with Krizhan again and choose the following dialogue options: “I’m here because of the map”, “We’ll settle this the nice way” and “Keep your money”. This will bring the quest to a close, but Krizhan will now become a skill trainer which can improve your craftmanship and drinking abilities.
