Gambling - Winning Every Zeni Hajiki Match
There are six regions to explore in Ghost of Yotei, and while none of them are terribly large as far as open worlds go, they do tend to be rather dense. One of many ways you can discover locations on your map is via the use of Traveler’s Maps, the use of which seems to have flustered some players. To help clear things up, we’ve written a page about finding and placing Traveler’s Maps in Ghost of Yotei!
Page Breakdown¶
Finding Traveler’s Maps¶
While blindly exploring until you find everything on the map is all well and good, even being astute about dispelling the fog of war won’t necessarily reveal everything. For more targeted objective hunting, you can use campfires and golden birds to guide you to points of interest and activities. Failing that, defeating enemies and helping settlers can also cause them to divulge map information, which sometimes comes in the form of Traveler’s Maps, which can also be purchased from the cartographer at what passes for civilization in Ezo. Whatever the source, Traveler’s Maps are useful ways to fill out your map remotely, but with a caveat: you must remotely place each Traveler’s Map on your own map map, stitching it in as a substitute for first-hand experience until the area in question is properly explored. Traveler’s Map add-ons are easy to spot on the main map - the main map is grey-and-white while Traveler’s Maps are sepia-tinted squares overlaid on top of the otherwise monochromatic map.
You can also find Isaburo the Cartographer at what passes for civilization in Ezo,
and he’ll sell you various Traveler’s Maps.
The Cartographer¶
As mentioned earlier, you can buy Traveler’s Maps from Isaburo the Cartographer who can be found in various places around Ezo. These maps generally cost 50-1,000 mon each. You cand find Isaburo the Cartographer in the following locations
Isaburo the Cartographer Locations¶
| Region | Location |
|---|---|
| Yotei Grasslands | Yote’s Shadow Inn |
| Tokachi Range | Huranui’s Rest Inn |
| Nayoro Wilds | Northern Ferry |
| Teshio Range | Red Crane Inn |
| Ishikari Plain | Ishikari Market |
| Oshima Coast | Matsumae Castle |
Placing Traveler’s Maps¶
To use a Traveler’s Map, look at the “Map” tab in the menu and press the square button to select one of your Traveler’s Maps. Once selected, the chosen map will snap to the appropriate region, so you don’t have to search the entire map for the correct location - the game at least puts you in the right direction!
Just about every Traveler’s Map has a few features you can use to narrow things down a bit - gray lines mark a river, a dark area (usually with mountainous scribbles) marks a region boundary and a blue, wavy texture indicates the sea. Between these three features you should be able to place every Traveler’s Map you find, as just about every location that can appear on a map will be near at least one of these three features.
If you take too long to place a Traveler’s Map, a glowing white outline of the correct area will appear, so you can’t really mess this up… but if you don’t want to find yourself waiting or blindly trying to place maps until something sticks, just remember: rivers, coasts and area borders!
