There are plenty of cosmetics in Ghost of Yotei, from hats and masks that serve little purpose besides decoration to weapon kits and armor dyes that change the appearance (but not functionality) of your arms and armor. Most of these can be purchased from various merchants in each region’s defacto hub (Yotei’s Shadow Inn in the Yotei Grasslands, Ishikari Market in the Ishikari Plain, etc.) or found in chests and at pillars, but there are also several Dye Houses located across Ezo which will starkly recolor your weapons and armor. When you want a pleasingly heavy-handed recolor of your gear, go give the local Dye House a visit! To help you towards this end, this page will cover the locations of every Dye House in Ghost of Yotei and how to unlock their services, when applicable.

White Dye House¶
Probably the first Dye House you’ll find, it’s in the northwestern edge of the Yotei Grasslands region - find the “Yotei River” text on the map and head northwest to reach the Dye House. Its proprietress is outside and you can peruse her inventory by just talking to her.

Green Dye House¶
You can find the Green Dye House in the Tokachi Range by following the Nupur River northeast until it forks at Huranui’s Rest Inn, at which follow the Nikappu River northeast to find this dye house on a hill southeast of the river - the green cloth hung out should be easy enough to spot from the river. Once again, find the merchant inside and talk to her to get access to her wares.

Find the merchant in or just outside of a smaller building uphill from the main building - her wares are limited until you complete the main quest “The Way of the Shamisen”.
Black Dye House¶
Found along the western edge of the region, from the Red Crane Inn just follow the Teshio River northwest, then west until you reach a bridge spanning the frozen river. The dye house is south of said river. Find the dye merchant sitting outside of a smaller building southwest of the main building. Her stock is very limited until after you complete the main quest [The Way of the Shamisen], which is part of The Kitsune questline.
Crimson Dye Beach¶
The one Dye House that isn’t actually a Dye House. Huh. Along the western coast of Ishikari Plain you’ll find crimson textiles hanging and stretched out along the beach, along with puddles of red dye… but no merchant to be found. To summon the merchant you’ll need to light a fire (yes, that means doing the fire stoking minigame) on the beach to summon her, after which you can buy her wares. Once you’ve summoned her, however, you don’t need to bother with it again.

Blue Dye House¶
Head to the southwestern edge of Oshima Coast and find the Otsuki River. Follow this river south to find the Dye House north of the river. You can find the merchant outside, tending to her textiles.
