Borderlands has never been shy of having plenty of things to do, especially when it comes to ways of obtaining loot. One of the methods in which you can get new guns and equipment in Borderlands 4 is via Survivalist Caches. These caches, which are essentially just glorified chests, are only found in The Fadefields, and there are only 10 of them. Note that collectible icons get added to the map whenever you get close, but there are some instances where it’s a bit confusing on how to get to them. Whenever you find one, just get close enough to get the prompt to open them, which will count them.

Survivalist Cache 1¶
The first Survivalist Cache on this list is found at Haywire Shire, a location in Coastal Bonescape. If you have The Stockroom Order Silo, that’s probably a good place to start, as it will be southeast from there. It is also directly east from the Riptide Grotto location, so either of those works. When you get to Haywire Shire, you will likely have to fight some Rippers, so defeat them all first. Once the coast is clear, look on the hill above the house you can enter to find the Cache.

Survivalist Cache 2¶
For the second Cache, you will be heading to Harper’s Hideaway, located to the northwest of the Abandoned Post Safehouse. Well, a little to the east of it is a covered bridge and that’s where you really want to visit. Go inside the covered bridge there and look up to see some holes in the ceiling. You can double jump up to the area above the ceiling, which is where the Cache will be located.
Go to this covered bridge not far from Harper’s Hideaway for the second Cache.
It’ll be in the ceiling, so look up for a hole inside the bridge.
Survivalist Cache 3¶
You won’t have to go too far from the second one to get to the third Cache, as it is located to the west of Harper’s Hideaway, at the Sarrett’s Jetty location. Just follow the road west out of Harper’s Hideaway and you’ll arrive there. Clear the area of the enemies that appear and you’ll find the Cache pretty much right out in the open.
The third Cache is located in the open at Sarrett’s Jetty.
Survivalist Cache 4¶
For the next three Caches, you will be going to The Howl, the area to the north of Coastal Bonescape. The first one here is located at the Gushing Turret location, found just southwest of The Kit Order Silo. The Cache is actually underneath the tower here, but there doesn’t seem to be a way inside from a first glance. Go to the water and look for an opening in the one sewer drain, where you can enter and find a hidden area. It is here that you will locate the Cache.
Look for the open sewer grate at the Gushing Turret location for the fourth Cache.
Go inside that opening and you’ll find the Cache right there.
Survivalist Cache 5¶
Finding this Cache can prove to be a little troublesome, as it’s inside of a cave. The entrance to this cave will be northwest of the Gushing Turret location and if you do the Breeding Daisies side mission, then you will be going here for that. This cave is full of Threshers, annoying creatures that burrow underground very often. Thankfully, the cave is pretty linear and once you make it to the end (three large groups of enemies), you will be able to jump back down near the entrance. Instead of doing that, look for another area you can jump/glide to the south (this is near the Red Chest). This little camp area will have the Cache.

Survivalist Cache 6¶
The last Cache in The Howl is northeast of the Rootdown Estates fast travel, which is unlocked as part of the main story. Take the exit right when you fast travel there, then head northeast until you find some sort of cave. The door here is locked from the outside, but there is a wall you can climb that leads to a deeper cave with a bunch of Rippers. Defeat them all (if you want), then find the exit that will take you to a locked Red Chest, with the Cache right next to it.
Find the cave to the northeast of the Rootdown Estates fast travel.
Fight your way to the end to not only find the Cache, but also a Red Chest.
Survivalist Cache 7¶
The next three are in Idolator’s Noose, with the first one being south of the Watershed Gate location. If you have the Someday Rise Safehouse, it’s close to there, but if not, then you can find it on the way. Take the road going south from the first location mentioned above and stop when you see the Ripper drill and debris to your west/southwest. Go in that direction and find the gap in the terrain there, which leads to some stairs. Climb the stairs, as well as the subsequent wall, then stop when you have to jump over a gap to another climbable wall. Instead of doing that, look down in the “pit” to see the Cache below you.

Survivalist Cache 8¶
Far to the south of the previous Cache is a location called Racketrun, which will be home to some Rippers. In the southern part of this location, at a higher elevation, you will find the Cache. It’s inside of a building there, so it’s not particularly too difficult to find.
The eighth Cache is in Racketrun, at a higher elevator and inside a building.
Survivalist Cache 9¶
In the southeastern corner of the Idolator’s Noose area, you will find the Wyclef’s Reprieve Safehouse. A little southwest of there is the Mirehome location and directly south of there will be an unmarked run-down town with some Order troops. In this unnamed town, look for a dropship that has crashed, with its back door open. That is where you’ll find the Cache.
Survivalist Cache 10¶
The final Cache on this list is found in the Dissected Plateau area of The Fadefields. In the northern part of this area is the Deep Seven Order Silo, an excellent start, as the Cache will be pretty much just east/southeast of it. You will find it underground, meaning you have to find the entrance to the place. Just east of the map marker will be a sewer grate that is open, so head inside and the Cache will be right in front of you.
